I'd sign all 3 if it meant we could get Jordan for a season. I think the mentorship would be good for Ras.

If we put aside the fact the Canes want to bring Jordan Staal back and Jordan Staal wants to come back... 7 MILLION? Even Jim Rutherford didn't give him that much...

I don't think he would be interested if another team didn't offer a big contract, and I would try to entice him with his brothers too. I think he could help Ras improve his game

Really like those prospects as well. I think we should try to trade up from 28th.

It's unlikely he'd like the reduction in playing time either. Even at 34, he's a massive part of the Hurricanes roster. If you wanted to beat what Carolina likely offer and force him out, I'd still not go above 4 at the absolute most. I love Jordo, I'd place his value right now somewhere between 2-3 million. If a GM gives him 7 million, I definitely expect there to be an investigation for money laundering or bribery

Like the investigation when some team decided to pay Kotkaniemi $6.1M? grin

That's an offer sheet. It's not the same. You overpay to get the players rights. As it turns out by the way, 6.1 may actually have been fair value for what he's becoming

Him being a massive part of the Canes roster is why they'll never sniff a cup with this core.

Easily the worst ACGM I’ve seen for Detroit. If not; top 3 for sure. Gross.

Uhhh... what? He's one of the best defensive players in hockey. It's not his fault that 2 of the teams top 6 wingers had freak injuries and were out for the season. Stop it

Neither Toronto or Vancouver need to move their first rounders to move the players.

Reasonable offer to the Canucks. Would have to consider that for sure.

Rather shoot my foot than see the equivalent of a boomer hockey family all on our team.

That's why you think they lost? Bc a couple wingers were out?

Year after year they prove to be a regular season team with good players everywhere but no truly elite talent.

J. Staal was cute 14 years ago playing 3C behind Crosby and Malkin...his time is over.

I'm sorry what? What are you on about? If they have two of the best scoring wingers in the league healthy in a series where every game was decided by a goal, they win that series. Stop it. Staal is still a monster of a player. Either you're clueless or trolling, I do not believe anyone that pays attention can be that ignorant

Vancouver has 7 picks this year, so I could see them staying put. I'm not really a big fan of moving up from 17. Toronto only has 3 picks this year so I could see them trading back, granted that's more of a Dubas move... I do like the idea of packaging a 2nd + to get another 1st.
