Pass on Josh Anderson. He’s only the idea of a top 6 power forward, in reality he’s an overpaid 3rd liner

What's the status with Murray, is he LTIR or we would have to send him down if needed?

LA would rather have Andersen at that cap hit than Samsonov.

Kinda funny, the Leafs can sign goalie Anderson for 3.5m but they get assets by trading 3.5m Samsonov
That's brutal trade for the Leafs acquiring 4 years of Anderson 5.5m Better UFAs are cheaper and you keep your first. Murray is an easy buyout

He is indeed an overpaid 3r liner, but he's exactly what we need. If Murray + can be parlayed into Anderson then why not. I think its a W for both teams.

His contract has buyout written all over it unless there's a reasonable trade to be had.

Sammy is a lot younger than us palhal lol He's a long term solution for the Kings whereas Anderson is winding down his career but not before Woll takes over as our long term No.1.

A Murray buyout adds a 2M cap hit to the following year. Why not utilize Murray instead to at least get a guy like Anderson that may actually move the needle for us because of the need he fills.

As a straight up signing sure, you can go out and get a Barbashev or Compher instead but in this case we're also unloading Murray, and that makes it a good deal considering how valuable a guy like Anderson would be for us.

The question is about his health status -- is he injured? can he play?

His status is currently healthy as he was cleared to play the last couple of playoff games but he hasn't been able to stay healthy for a long duration so we'll have to see. Its also his UFA year, so if he is going to put together a decent year this season would be it.

Sorry, I think it's far better cap management buying out Murray, instead of having an overpaid Anderson for four years. Samsonov doesn't have to signed THAT long term, if the Leafs are so confident in Woll. Besides just because you sign a player, and he's worth his contract he can always be traded.

Cool thanks. I think if we were to trade Allen it's the kind of trade Montreal would contemplate.

That would be Josh and that's a big reason why I'd do this move.
