1stoff. Wallman performed very well last year and is a great fit for Seider, saying he is unproven after his year is just your way of trying to make your case.
2nd, taking on another player when you have other players not as good but NHL caliber is fine, but what do Wings do with other players they have already signed?
3rd, my god Evidisson is only in his 1st year playing in NA. give it a chance. It is not like he is 25,, the kid is 20 years old. Also if he did not get hurt, Johansson was the guy to get a call up at the end of the year.
4th, get another LHD defenseman and then putting Charoit on RH side is like using a band aid for a bullet hole, does not make sense. IF we trade that NYI pick it will be a package for a RHD defenseman, Young and with term
No, me saying unproven is exactly what the guy is since, if you wanna go off his stats so far, is not a top pairing d man. However, if you'd like to consider his upside in the future, you go with the term unproven. Unproven doesn't mean bad, it means there's a lack of experience, which there truly is.
My whole point is that Stevie Y has a plan, and now it's what, year 5? At some point there's gonna need to be that first year where you go for it. if it's not year 6, then how long is this supposed to take and when is enough enough. What i'm saying is, is a top 4 of Provy/Walman-Seider, Walman/Provy-Chiarot, better than what you have now. Chiarot is fine on the right side as long as he someone competent playing with him on the other side, who Provy or Walman (potentially) are. Objectively, i think you need to realize, that it is. It's a contending top 4. Now, doesn't that also allow you to fill your third pairing with maybe a guy you had on your second pairing? So in effect, bolstering your entire d corps?
Listen, i know you signed guys, but you have a system and you have injuries and you have chemistry issues and it's good to have depth, especially with no one really being a harbinger on the cap. It's one thing if you think he's a luxury, fine, you don't want him. But if you want to better, this is you guys getting better. Or, you can continue to wait for the guy who you draft 18th overall to be ready in 3-4 years to take on an every night NHL role.
