The way I read into it is CAR probably didn't think he was worth the money Patches agent asked for. Go test free agency. Then once you've run through those hurdles we can get to brass tax. CAR won't overspend, but CAR isn't trying to trick anyone either. Go test the market, we're confident our number is fair. If you find something else you prefer, then good luck!

I think we may give him a prorated deal if he look ready come the signing deadline (is that November 30th?). It doesn’t sound like we are going to make him a part of the off-season plan hoping he recovers.
