Canes decline, Necas gives 75% of the production at 25% of the cost, younger plays C. No. You're not getting roster pieces if the player coming back isn't a pure scorer, and Marner isn't

This is so much better for TOR than it is for SJ.

TOR is literally only going back 9 draft spots to dump a big contract AND they get a really steady, physical, and surprisingly skilled depth winger. So maybe add a future 2nd and the Sharks may take this

He produced 70% of his (counting stats) production 1 time and he will cost 25% for one year

If you think that's fair game then skinner for aho 1 for 1 based on last year's production

Would think Winnipeg would want to target young assets, no?

Absolutely...I just always have a hard time predicting actual values for goalies.

Considering the market and considering the teams looking for a goalie; I would think Hellebuyck gets more than what he's technically worth. I mean you've got LAK, CAR, and NJD all looking for a win-now goalie and all have decent prospects. Also have OTT and EDM. Also supposedly BUF, who'd be able to outbid everyone, but I don't think they'll do that or else they'll piss of Levi, probably.

I could see this, but historically goalie trade values seem to be a coin flip.

I used the template of the Darcy Kuemper trade from Arizona to Colorado for this, with Robertson being the young player (Timmins) the 1st round pick, and instead of a conditional 3rd, you get an RFA Samsonov who could step in and be the #1 on a Winnipeg team that doesn't necessarily have to start a full blown rebuild.

Sorry but Hellebuyck is a much better goalie than Keumper when you consider track record.

100 less games played to date for Kuemper, but their career SV% is actually the same at .916 and Kuemper's GAA is 2.54 to Helle's 2.67 and I would argue that Kuemper has played on teams far worse for most seasons with the exception of the cup winning year in Colorado.

Helle at 3yrs younger and a Vezna season in 2020 does have it's bonus, but he's also sporting a cap hit over $6M. I'd say comparibly, I don't see a real life Helle deal being much different than what the Avs gave up for 1 season of Kuemper at $4.5M

Keumper had a 7.7 xGSA in 66 games (two seasons with ARI). Hellebuyck had a xGSA of 30.8 in 64 games just this season.
Obviously those stats are a little skewed due to the teams, but they're generally isolated goalie.

Hellebuyck is a much better goalie than Keumper was. The cap hit may lower the price, but they can easily reach out to like Chicago or Arizona to retain for a 3rd or something.

Not to mention that Keumper only played more than 41 games (more than 32 games to be more price) once. Last time Hellebuyck played less than 41 games was in 15/16, or his first season.

Sharks fans keep saying no to Murray + 1st for Sharks 2nd, so you decided to have the Sharks also give up a roster player? Get real
