CHI likely declines. But, I'm sure CHI and PIT could strike a deal. According to most pick value charts, the Granlund dump alone should easily cost PIT those 5 spots, if not more. There isn't likely to be a whole lot of interest in Puustinen from CHI, and CHI's 2nd is worth quite a bit at 35th overall. It really depends, though. This draft is kind of different in that, there could be a player they think is worth paying this price to move up to 14. It would probably have to be on the draft floor though.

AZ definitely declines. They are the last team that will be trading away a pick to add over $4m in salary this season.

Agree w/ @Garak. Hawks decline. #19 for #14 and Granny is probably as good as it gets for Pens. Not even sure Hawks do that.

I really don’t see the Stars parting ways with Lindell, especially now that rumors have surfaced regarding them buying out Suter. I think acquiring him is very unlikely. Also, I firmly believe that we should not part way with Guentzel. His production and chemistry with Sid is not easy to replicate. An extension can easily get done, and being that this is the last hurrah, his age shouldn’t matter when negotiating. It’s now or never with our window.

I’m a fan of Marchment’ s game, and our team needs what he brings, but there is just no incentive for Dallas to trade him. Especially with his term and their influx of young skilled guys coming up. They need what Marchment brings, just like we do.

I’m not opposed to taking a flyer on Pacioretty, but I’m not sure that it’ll be for 2 million. His contract will be a wild card. Could be more, could be about what you’ve given him. What I can say is that you underpaid a good chunk of the other UFA’s.

I like what you have in mind in terms of what the team needs, but I just don’t think it can ALL be done.

Lastly, I don’t think we should trade Puustinen. He’ll be very cheap, will be battling for a spot in camp this year, and will probably have one next year, if not this year. Look what good came from keeping our cheap home grown young guys in 16 and 17 and look at what bad came from shipping out every pick and AHL guy during the latter of the Shero years. He’s a home grown 7th rounder who has become better than expected. Might as well see what he can do.
