The Price is Wright

Créé par: J_w64
Équipe: 2023-24 Kraken de Seattle
Date de création initiale: 27 mai 2023

Description
This roster is based on my belief that Wright should start in the NHL this upcoming season. Organizationally Seattle is very deep at C, so it would alleviate some internal pressure on the AHL C's. Cap space remaining could be used to extend Beniers, Tolvanen, Eberle this summer.

My only issue with Wennberg is $4.5M is a lot for the points he produces but value wise it’s a very fair trade

I was going to compliment you on the title….but….you…..didn’t….trade Wright, so I feel let down ☹️.

However, all your moves seem well thought-out and reasonable…so you have redeemed yourself 👍.

Most of these moves look good from my point of view and pretty representative of the more low-key offseason I expect the Kraken to have. I probably wouldn't sign Craig Smith and just roll with Tye Kartye in that last winger spot, and I think the Kraken could take advantage of Boston's cap crunch and get Forbort for free/future considerations. I would also see if Sprong could return a higher pick instead of a couple of mid-round picks, but we'll see what happens, if he even departs Seattle at all.

Overall though, nicely done.

Yeah, he isn't a 2C and he's overpaid so if Seattle would retain some, he could be a solid 3C option.

Thank you for the feedback.

I'm with you I think Tye Kartye should get a look but I'm unsure if they'd want to subject him to 4th line duties considering where he was slotted in the playoffs. Only time will tell, but I agree he should be an NHL player next year.

Seattle's an interesting case in that, thanks to their depth, their "fourth line" isn't a fourth line in the traditional sense. It was oftentimes a source of offense, with guys like Sprong being real contributors on that end. I think Kartye is good enough on both ends of the ice to handle whatever role the Kraken give him, but as you said time will tell.
