after picking myself up off the floor from laughting so much, a 80-90 point winger making 7.15M for 5 more years has FAR more value than a 90-100 point winger making 11M for 2 more years and wanting 12M+ on his next contract. no team is going to do a trade like this.

10-15 point difference between the 2 is not worth the extra 4M and being the finalist of a trophy means squat in this trade.

Being the finalist of the best defensive forward actually holds a lot of merit, considering Marner IS one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

Thought, I wouldn't mind a Marner, please Leafs fans...consider value. Marner is not worth Keller, never mind Crouse. Little, McMann, Lafferty pretty meaningless in any trade.

So you know nothing about the Leafs prospects??? Two of the Leafs top 5 prospects, 2 1st rd picks, and an NHL ready 3rd line center is probably an overpayment for a 1LW and a 3C

While I don't know the full extent of their prospect pool, I was going off points mainly. I said your offer was good, but from my perspective I thought a bit more should be offered, since the two firsts are late firsts, and while good stats, we don't know how those prospects will translate at an NHL level.

All in all, its not a bad offer, in fact its pretty solid; but given how GMs have paid more for less in the past, I would still try to bargain a bit more from the Flyers' side.
