I doubt the Canes will move roster pieces for Marner. He's overpaid and overrated. He doesn't add enough goal-scoring to justify moving a 23-year-old 2nd line center signed long-term for a dude that's up in 2 years. Canes don’t do it anyway. They already have their 2C, so moving him just to bring in another RW is a mistake, especially when they don’t have anyone ready to replace KK, and would have to waste assets to bring in a replacement. Marner to Carolina is completely unrealistic.

If all 2yrs of a 99pt player cost was Kotkaniemi and a very late 1st, the Canes would take that trade on every day that ends in a y.
