Where are Laf and Miller?

It’s salary trouble. You’re not going to form a suitable 22 man roster with him (unless you want to sell Laf/Miller/Lindy instead, but they’re all way better).

Trivigno, Korczak and Lindbom are most likely not ready for NHL action. Berard might have an outside chance at making it, as with Robertson, but they probably wouldn't be regulars. I think relying on Harpur to play top-4 minutes is a huge risk, as he looked shaky this past year and hasn't really gotten that kind of playing time in the past. Lafreniere and Miller may not have the ability to fill a role the way Goodrow can, but they're still impactful offensively and could contribute more points than him (Laf and Miller scored a combined 82 points compared to Goodrow's 31).

I'm still confused as to who would fill those spots, though. Laf seem to be getting at least 3 mil and Miller 3.5. If the team only goes with 20 skaters, there won't be anyone to call up for replacement when someone's injured

Yeah honestly him signing for that little is the best-case scenario. There are some projections showing it's possible given he has limited negotiating power, though
