No idea what his value is. Heard somewhere that Kings would try trading him to clear cap. He's probably worth more than this, but in the case no other teams want to take him, we can probably get him for cheap (similar to what happened when he was traded from NSH).

Lundy is an NHL player, Robertson is not, it's that simple.

I'm interested in Robo, but at this point he is a reclamation project. I'll give you Comtois RFA rights. Or a later mid round pick.

Ducks are not swapping Lundestrom for Robertson. I have no idea how you conclude that makes sense for the Ducks.

Arvidsson's value was down because he was coming off of injuries. He'll bring back AT THE LEAST what the Kings paid for him. A 2nd and a 3rd.

We're short highly skilled wingers and have an excess of centers, if the assumption is that Robo lives up to his potential, it makes sense.

Only glaring problem is Robo living up to his potential is looking like a very long shot at this point.

I'm not seeing any excess of centers this season. Strome can play wing. Zegras can be a highly skilled wing. Fantilli / Carlsson aren't locks for the team. Gaucher is a year or two out.

At the very worst Lundestrom gets pushed down to 4C which would be perfectly fine given his contract and lack of consistent offensive. On top of the 4C spot being an opening that the Ducks need to fill regardless.

I would certainly expect Lundestom to become expendable in the near future, next season or the season after. But he's definitely not expendable now.

Yeah, I honestly didn't realize he's already played nearly two full seasons. I still think if Robo can stay healthy he has top-6 potential, but I agree that it's a long-shot at this point.

From what I remember, it was simply due to the tight cap situation every team was in over the 2021 off-season. Arvy only missed 6 games the entire season before.

It's not about this year, it's about looking towards the future and seeing what's it the pipeline. I'd use Lundestrom this year as part of a deal to get a young top 6 winger (right) or a top 4 RHD like Carlo. We can patch a hole at 3C easily enough, we have the cap space to sign a veteran to a couple years to occupy that spot until another internal option is ready.

This deal doesn't work on the grounds that Robertson's likelihood of having a full NHL career is slipping away due to injuries, not because Lundestrok isn't moveable yet.

Not similar in any way. Completely different play styles. The only thing preventing Robertson from being an NHL regular is his injuries. Jeremy Bracco didn't play a minute in the NHL.

I never meant to imply he's immovable. I'm just trying to say that by moving him you are creating a hole on the roster at 3C that we would have to then fill from outside (IMO). Basically you and I are going around in circles saying the same thing... getting Robertson isn't worth losing Lundestrom. It doesn't make sense.

Why are you trading Samsonov for a 3rd? He’s a cheap capable goalie

Hmmm. I remember injuries being a part of that discussion. But you're right in that those two seasons were shortened. I'd have to go back and do some research.

Regardless, I still hold that he'd get at least the same value back. He hasn't done anything to hurt his value.

Because his new contract won't necessarily be cheap. I don't mind keeping him. However, in this ACGM I did it to gain the assets that'll help acquire arvidsson/lundestrom.

Probably come in somewhere between 3.8-4.5. But you HAVE to do that, can’t have Murray and Woll being your two guys

I honestly don't think that's true. I'm probably a little too high on Woll, but if Murray can play 30 games, then I don't think our goaltending will be too different than last year. That 3.8-4.5 doesn't seem that bad but I'm also worried about the term. People forget that Sammy isn't the most reliable goalie. He only played 42 games this year. In the playoffs, he played well enough to beat Tampa, but realistically he wasn't actually that good. Otherwise, he's had a pretty mediocre career. If the cost of dumping Murray is too high, then I don't mind playing him out for his last year. I also think he's a bit of a dark horse in that if he's healthy come playoff time, he has the potential to go on a deep run.

Isac Lundestrom has played his way onto the roster as a decent bottom-6 center and has 212 NHL games under his belt. Nick Robertson hasn't proven that he is an NHLer yet.
