I could definitely see Carolina having interest in Marner, I highly doubt they would make Pesce available though. Puljujarvi has almost zero trade value as he probably won't be qualified. Nikishin is one of the top prospects outside of North America. I don't personally see him being available.

Carolina can’t score. Lol.

Pass. Marner can’t be retained long term.

Carolina is missing Svechnikov…I think they are fine. Marner is a hard player to move without retention. Toronto needs to move Nylander and Matthews.

Carolina cannot score when they're missing 2 top six wingers? Shocker... easy pass. Carolina is built on its defensive structure. They're giving up 2 goals a game on average. No point moving Pesce for Marner, Especially when you want the best D man not in the NHL, multiple 1sts on top of it. It HAS To be a futures package if you want Marner to Carolina. Roster pieces are only going to be on the table for Matthews

Big overpay by the Canes.

Jets would take that though its highly unlikely he won't be dealt for that much, not sure the Leafs have the right pieces to acquire him though.

The premise that Nylander has an extension by the draft is beyond foolish. Toronto doesn't even have a GM right now and Nylander's agent plays hardball. So you can just throw the Ducks trade away because of that.

Regardless, drop Dostal out of the Ducks package. You aren't getting the Ducks future starting goal tender and current backup.

They were close this time, they just forgot that Dostal counts as part of the young core.

Really not sure why they wanted Silf over Rico though.

As a stand alone, the Nylander trade isn't one I'd instantly say no to. It would just have to adjust to 2024/2025 picks and replacing Dostal's value with something else. And of course what the numbers on the extension are would be hugely important.

The roster as a whole is a pipe dream though. The odds of any team signing 4 high tier UFAs plus multiple other UFAs is so low that it doesn't happen. He parked Murray on LTIR for cap space. Silfverberg and Pool Party as your middle six right side.... yeesh that's bad. Using assets from one unlikely trade to make a second unlikely trade.

That deal for Marner would be fine if they switched out Nikishin and Pesce and added some more prospects... I agree that I don't see the Hurricanes dealing roster pieces for Marner
