I don't see a scenario where the Pens trade Guentzel.

We definitely shouldn't trade all those picks, but trading for Cooley in the case he becomes available is an interesting idea.

yep, that's the idea. Cooley can become a new franchise player when Crosby finishes.

Guentzel is 30 next year. Pens can get maximum from his trade here and now. And Marner is stronger

About Ullmark, I agree, probably expensive but he is a good goalie in prime age with a good contract.

Why not? Worst case they will loose sign-rights in summer 2024 and Cooley gets back to the draft. I offered 2 first round picks and a first round prospect and ... yes took something back

Guentzel is 30 next year but Crosby loves him and he is basically the assistant GM

Ullmark really only had 1 good season, 2022. Every other year he was close to replacement level.
