Because wild aren't trading addison fir basically a 1 dimensional, at best bottom line winger they don't need. Only Detroit chased him for a reason. Our coach abd gm doesn't like one way player's

Not close to Troy Terry, whom we wouldn't exchange for the seventh overall and those two prospects. Zadina doesn't look like he's going to pan out and we have three better LhD prospects than Sebrango.

First trade whatever, I doubt they have much interest in Kubalik.
Second trade. You aren't getting Terry for that package nor should we be interested in trading for Terry since it will cost us too much.
Third trade. We shouldn't be trading that pick at all unless it's to move up somehow. Lindholm could easily walk after this year and if Calgary was looking to move him, they would want a package that would keep them competitive not futures.
Fourth trade. We should not be trading our first next year either. I know you got alot of players that should put us into the playoffs but it could very well be a lottery pick.
This team might make the playoffs, might even win a round in the next couple years but then it would be right back to mediocrity. We would have bad cap issues with Lindholm's 8M, Seider's 9M, Terry's 7+M plus Berggren and Ras. Right after that Edvinsson, Kasper and Konecny will need new deals and it would be really tough to keep them all. Konecny probably walks and that package you sent for him was basically wasted.
I get what you are trying to do, use our excess assets to try and make this team better but if you look into the future it would make us worse down the road. I do like all the players you targetted in your trades, except Addison.

You’d for sure do it for the 7th overall pick but I digress.

Thanks for the detailed comment. I wouldn’t trade for Lindholm unless it came with an extension, I probably should have included that in the post.

Money wouldn’t be an issue with these trades since we’d have around $35m the following offseason to sign Seider, Raymond, Berggren, Rasmussen & Lindholm. I have those 5 players projected to cost around $32m combined. And after that season we’d have roughly $15m in open cap space to sign the next wave of young pups.

Btw, I’d happily add to all the trades to make them work. Those 3 are between 25-28 and turn us into a bonafide playoff/Stanley cup contender for the next 7-8 years.

I’m curious as to why you don’t like Addison tho.

Ehh, I could see that but I could also see a JT Miller type draft trade. Can’t remember if that trade actually took place during the draft or before it.

Yeah, honestly I’m with u 100%. I loved Billy Guerin as a player and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with his boldness & shrewd team management over the last couple years. Y’all are lucky to have him.

Miller was already signed to a multi year contract by then so no it would not. Calgary won't trade their 1C before they get the chance to negotiate an extension

Next season would be alright since we have alot of cap space but it's the season after. Just looking at next season, with your team there is 36M in cap. I agree around 32M for those guys. Then fill the roster with ELC and we have basically no cap space left. Not awful by any means but the season after.
If we only had 15M in cap we would be effed. The long term outlook for your team says we would have about 20M with a 92M salary cap. I don't see it getting that high that quick but never know. Just looking at who needs new deals. Konecny probably gets 8M. Kasper and Edvinsson could very easily break out and it would be ideal to get them signed long term, more so Edvinsson. Husso will need a new contract or else we will need to find a goalie, Cossa isn't going to be ready after one AHL season. I figure you are at around 72M with only 12 players signed. No goalies and still needing to sign high end young players plus fill the roster. It's just too much. What will end up happening is guys like Konecny would walk, then those assets are wasted. Don't have too many other young high end guys to replace him. If they could be somehow convinced to all take sweetheart deals then maybe the money could work but all those guys have been underpaid for what they have done and will be looking for a pay day.
Now if we scratched a couple of those trades, Terry cause he's not being traded and Lindholm cause we shouldn't trade that pick, then we would have a couple more young high end young players on ELCs that could be plugged into the line up.

As for Addison, be he seems like an offence driven defenceman and I'm not a fan of them unless they are elite, then usually they can play a two way game. I don't hate the idea of an offensive defenceman but I prefer guys that play defense first and then let the offense come after.

What would you rather have as a rebuilding team?

Terry, Konecny and Lindhold

Or

Ryan Leonard, Colby Barlow, Sebrango, Zadina, Johansson, Lombardi, 2023 & 2025 2nd round picks, 2024 1st round pick.

Worrying about the cap is a good problem to have when you’re trying to fit in complimentary players around 27 year old stars in their primes.

These aren’t aging vets we’re talking here that will handicap our team - building blocks that are impactful now and into the future. If Konecny wants too much money (or anyone else) you’ve got a minimum of 2 years to deal with that.

I would absolutely rather have those 3 star players in their primes. 25, 26 & 28 years old signed long term, all 3 play at a high level in all situations and two are righties. That’s a snap call.

The Wild trade would be something to look at in August, not before the draft or bulk of free agency is done.
