The Atlantic division is only going to get harder to win, so it wouldn't be wise to trade him within division. My question though is why trade Cirelli who is known to be a good fit and is pretty young? Even if TB misses the playoffs next year, it's not like they can't come back the following year and win the cup.

TB should and likely will spend to the last penny next year so that they don't need to move one of their core players.

Buffalo’s top 2 centers are already better than Cirelli. Nobody is paying $7 million for a guy to be 3rd line center, and I don’t think he is a winger. I would think Tampa would look elsewhere for cap relief anyway.
