Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

My theory: If they put a weak lineup together, it'll reduce the output from Rasmussen, Raymond, Seider, and Berggren thus reducing the cap hit of their contracts next season. This is pretty evil, but Brad Holmes is branding the Lions as "villains" this year, so I think Yzerman should try to one up him.

This lineup is exactly at the cap floor, so they have all the space to take on some cap dump contracts for picks. On top of that they'll be 100% guaranteed to get the 3rd overall pick when they finish last, and that'll be the highest pick they've had through this whole rebuild.

Yzerman = ultimate villain

P.S. Veleno had the 3rd most hits last season on this team. Even though he's 2 inches shorter than Sunny, I'd like to see him on the redwoods line.

lol, he's not that bad, he's a thick boy with some decent speed, but I think he's closer to an AHL stud than an NHL regular.

Yep it's been 33 years since Detroit has had a top 3 pick and 37 since they've had the 1st pick in a draft. In that time Chicago has had 5 top 3 picks and has had the top pick twice.

Detroit has had the most losses in the NHL over the last 7 seasons and has drafted: 9, 6, 6, 4, 6, 8, 9... Maybe we can at least agree Bettman doesn't wish us luck when he blows out his birthday candles

The frustrating part to me is that they haven't gotten out of this rebuild. Honestly I'd hate if they did something like this to tank another year, but if they did decide to do it and it made them contenders for then next decade+ I'd say it was worth it.

But it's impossible to project that out, so I can only be jealous of lucky teams like Buffalo, Montreal, and Ottawa, (Note how they're all in our division)... and NY, Chicago and Jersey who are all probably bigger markets... There's definitely some conspiracy meat there for the loonies

You do know that once the order is set the NHL has nothing to do with the set up and drawing. It's all handled by 3rd party usually a law form to avoid situations like you mentioned above.

But you are right things are looking pretty bleak for the Wings right now. The needs more grit after he has traded Bertuzzi. The team needs to score more after trading Vrana and Hronek.
