If the Coyotes get any more draft picks the NHL draft will be held at Gary Bettman's house. Coyotes biggest fan.

Kings won't be giving up nearly that much to move Petersen. Take out the 1st, or take out Spence and change the first round pick to a 2nd.

Perfectly fine. The Kings, if necessary, will bury him for one more year and buy him out next year for minimal costs. Or find someone else who will take that price (maybe Chicago, for instance).

A couple of interesting draft pick swap ideas here. In particular, the Arizona deal should be appealing to the Coyotes. See following response. (The Winnipeg deal makes sense for the Jets if you're able to snag the Colorado pick, but I don't think that your offer is sufficient.)

Yeah, but they only have one 2023 second. I think that this is a very good idea for them. (I know that you were being humorous.)

But this is from #12, not #6. At #17 there should be some very good defensive prospects available, and other quality options at #43.

That's fine and trading him to a several-year bottom feeder next year is preferred. All he'll do to the Red Wings is create minor resigning issues.

Agreed, I don't see why Detroit would trade for him unless they believe he's better than what he's shown for the past two years. That's why the Kings will likely walk into camp with him next year, to see if he's gotten over whatever has ailed him (mentally, he's been physically fine).

My point was more that even amongst the cap dumps that have occurred in the past, there has never been one where a team gave up a 1st AND an A/B prospect for a dump. That's exorbitant and overpriced.

I completely ignored the fact that Spence was there my bad. Could probably get him on Buffalo too; Spence + Peterson for one of their meh prospects. Get a decent RD prospect + a backup for Levi.

So spence and Peterson? Or a 2nd and Peterson? Ya not happening .... can’t see anyone just Taking on 11 million for a possible ahl goalie just to add a 2nd rd pick (we got a 2nd alone for staal for a single season) or just spence alone who might be 2nd/3rd pairing dman or might just be a good ahl goalie

I didn’t look at how much cap space you have left but if you have the room just let him waste away for 2 in the ahl

Dropping 7 spots for the jets to add a 2nd isn’t enough? Well maybe throw in a 5th I think that’s what dallas got when we did the cossa deal but the 2nd rd pick jets would be getting would be a lot earlier . I think dallas got like 55th pick + a 5th rounder to fall back to like 6 spots. I would think 18 for for 25&42 would be enough

To land another 1st cause we need as many kicks at the can cause bettman will never give us a 1st overall pick in my lifetime again 😂 I’m not to worried if Peterson succeeds or not ... easy for me to say cause it’s not my 11 million I’d be spending lol

Couple of things:

1) Spence has legit #2RD upside with PP1 QB potential. That in and of itself is something you look for in a mid-late first round pick, HOPING a player will turn out like that.
2) If the 11mil is what's bothering folks, the Kings can attempt to trade him after July 1st when they pay his 4mil signing bonus. Then it's "only" 7mil.
3) One of my other posts on here was exactly what you say. Instead of paying that price, they'd stash him in the AHL if he proved he wasn't NHL quality in next year's training camp. However, they'd only do it for 1 because after next year a buyout leads to a minimal $2mil cap hit in 2024-25 and $1mil cap hit in 2025-26.

The Kings are in a close to a cap crunch for sure, but there are plenty of other options outside of the prices you are asking. And there are also teams that could be willing to take it for the price I set. Chicago being my main example. They have no NHL goalie and they need to get to the cap floor. Why not take a flier AND get a future #2RD, current #3RD that can run their 2nd power play today?

K just checked buyout options . Yes unless you don’t need the 5 mill cap space to use for this season for a run or whatever I’d bury him and wait a year. As for spence he’s still an unknown . I seen a lot of kids put up good ahl numbers and do nothing . I don’t know if your looking for a 1st for him but there’s 0% chance I’d ever deal a 1st for him . Probably a 2nd depending the spot. That’s why I was including the pick with Peterson’s salary and cap hit being so high

But now that I seen the buyout option for 2024 unless you really need the money I’d just wait it out

The 6th is likely to be used on michkov or reinbacher, the forwards in the range of 17 are smaller as well, but at 12 they can get wood. They won’t move back

Ahhh 😂 it’s all good my bad man . Ya I don’t know what they’d be expecting for a 25th pick. I’m pretty sure unless perron stinks up the joint and what else is available at 50% and given his playoff play he can fetch a 1st off a contender. Can see veleno being a 3c there atm . They don’t like it fair play I just don’t see them getting like a nylander or a high end player/prospect for a late 1st

When did I ever mention Kakko? Or anyone remotely like him? The Avs will likely only be trading that 1st if it leads to them getting a genuine 2C. Otherwise they'll keep it and use it to add to a VERY depleted prospect pool. Perron is a 1 and done 34 yr old rental. Veleno put up less points than Newhook and is a year older so even though he's a C he's not likely to be the 2C of the future. Nothing there to really interest the Avs and definitely not enough to make them part with that 1st.
