At first glance, the Vancouver trade doesn't make sense for either side. But both sides have troublesome contracts the teams would probably like to get out from under. I'm sure there's buyer's remorse on the Miller deal already. Take Elvis and Miller out and that's a vastly more than fair offer for Demko. Elvis has many less years left compared to Miller and was a very good goalie before he suffered a massive personal tragedy right in front of him. In the end, I think it balances out in terms of value but I don't think either team would be remotely motivated to pursue it.

VAN won't trade Demko unless there's a 1st or Johnson involved.

Demko is a #1 goalie on a great contract. And tho Millers contract isn’t the best he’s still a PPG C.

CBJ is going to have to put together a hell of a better offer than that to get those guys. Not even remotely fair
