This is anything but reasonable, why would Seattle do that?

For a ton of offense? What would make it more reasonable in your view?

They have a million forwards and so much depth. Why the heck wouldn’t u package that up with picks and get a star

IF ek was 50% retained, the 2nd was lowered, and Sprong was out for like a 3rd, Seattle might consider it, but this is a high risk move, especially for a team that is built on low risk moves/signings. Seattle should avoid star players that aren't home grown, which would include trades for 32 yr old guy who only had 1 (incredibly) good season in the past 4 years and costs 5.75 mil, im kinda convincing myself to approve the trade but I'm gonna stand my ground and say no and that its too risky. The main problem is the duration of the contract, you'd be taking away money you'll need to resign most of the important players on the team in the next 2 years, which adds to the risk of the move, and even though Evans will not be as good as ek, I'd still rather leave a power play spot for him in the future.

There’s so many forwards on the team . I look at the roster and they’re primed for a couple of roster players and like a pick packaged for someone really good

Seattle is solid team and strong but could use a star for marketing and to take the next step. To me Seattle is the most likely place for him but no matter what he is 95% likely to be with a new team next year.

This move is terrible. It's so far away from the way Ron Francis built Carolina and this team. I wouldn't expect any major moves from Seattle until the end of the 23/24 season when they start having contracts coming off the books and have a chance to see what prospects look like.

They are still emerging as a playoff team next year. There’s zero need to trade one of their best prospects they just signed (of which they don’t have a lot of obviously) and 2 very solid depth pieces who have flourished in the system, along with their 2023 first, 2024 second for a $8m EK with 4 years on term. That deal makes zero sense which is why it won’t happen.

Ehhhh no. There’s a fair chance he stays in San Jose.
