This Bob vs Thachuk debate is idiotic. They wouldn’t be here without either of them. You could say either one is MVP and you’d be right.

It's still a pretty close race for the Conn Smythe and anything can happen in 4+ games.

Vegas has a few possible candidates. Eichel and Stone are leading, but Marchessault, Stephenson and Barbeshev are all in a position to take the lead if they show out in the finals.

Florida's obvious leader's are Bob and Tkachuk. But because Tkachuk is a skater not a goalie, a face of the league, and is a big story because he just arrived in Florida, he seems like he will get the edge over Bob if they both remain neck and neck. Verhaeghe and Barkov are the only one's who could catch either of those two, although they are a ways behind and I don't see Chuk or Bob having a drop off in play vs Vegas.

Bob has been great, but Carolina takes a lot of low quality shots which gives Bobs SV% a boost and private models are higher on the panthers defense and don’t have Bob putting up otherworldly numbers. He’s still a deserving candidate for conn smythe, but there’s also a strong argument for Tkachuk.

Last night Bob was average and let in a goal with 2 min to go in the game. Tkachuk put the team on his back and scored with 4 sec left. That game could have easily went to OT and Carolina would have all the momentum.

People who normally don’t care for analytics are running with a public model like money puck saying that Bob has saved 20 goals expected without using any context and looking at all the data.

I agree, tbh I think the Canes really did play better they were just lacking that star scoring that they needed. Bob kept all the games close and the Panthers star players capitalized when they needed too.

Imo Bob won 3/4 games of that series.

Game 3 Bob had a relatively easy workload. Besides Aho getting a few good looks, the canes mostly threw low percentage shots from the point at him. Bob must’ve scooped up 20 floaters from point shots.
