Even if Barkov is healthy enough to play game 4, Florida should give him more time to rest and go 11-7. Marc Staal has been the worst player from both teams in this series, giving him less ice time would benefit Florida .

Or go 12-6 no Barkov and rest Marc Staal. Staal has had his hiccups these playoffs but I think he’s done a pretty good job overall. He just needs to be serviceable and cover Montour. Gudas has been phenomenal. I don’t think people are giving Florida enough credit for how deep their blue line is. But it’s very visible, when Marc Staal hits the 13/15 minute mark for TOI, his play, focus, and stamina fall off a cliff. He needs rest before he empties his tank in the finals.

I think Marc staal has been a liability for most of the playoffs, he hasn’t been good defensively even in the regular season. Montour is the one covering for him lol

I watched 4 from round 1, 2 in round 2 and all from this series for Florida, but I think he’s been decent. I don’t mean outstanding or touted for his defensive play, but he has had moments where he’s made good defensive plays and breakouts. He’s also had wince worthy moments too where Montour ends up being the one covering him lol. He’s definitely the weak link on that blue line, I’m not disagreeing with you there. No shot that we see a drastic change from Maurice this deep though. Unless they get dragged 2 games in a row by Carolina or in the finals, he’ll continue to be in the same roll. I mean it’s not flawless haha but it’s gotten them this far so f it right

Yeah I agree. Maurice trusts him for whatever reason -at the very least Mahura should get more ice time, he’s been very good. I don’t understand why he’s being sheltered - Bob and Tkachuk have covered up some coaching flaws.
