Six 1stshappy But this is probably little bit too optimistic. We should get a better return for Kubalik, 50% retained and we could get a really good return.

While it's possible the Blues could trade down a little on or closer to draft day, this sort of thing will not be happening until all the draft places are set. At least.

I personally think the Red Wings should trade for all of the 1st rounders in this year's draft, but that's just me.

2.67 million is the buyout for 2 years. I agree, the 1st is a bit much. Detroit won't buy out Murray, they will dump him in the minors and let Ottawa pay him another year.

It's bad for Detroit anyway. The picks in the 40s still have some really good players most likely. Dower Nillson and Willander will still be there according to every draft simulation out there, and I'd say they'd both be late 1sts in any other draft. In a couple years, a redraft will have both players going top 20. The picks in the 20s this year are just as good as the ones in the 30s and low 40s.

St Louis should absolutely take this trade. Not that it matters, Toronto is not trading the pick anyway.

I like the thought process on the Kings trade.

Detroit won't get Spence and a 1st. One or the other. I personally don't know much about Spence, but some rational kings fans are pretty high on him, to the degree of how Wings fans feel about Wallinder.

The trade needs tweaking, but in principal I think it is fair.

This could be good for both teams, but I think Detroit trades the last of the 3 2nds, so Willander and Dower Nilsson will be in Detroit. The consolation prize is But, for Vancouver. That's a heck of a good pick too.

Only way Detroit makes this trade is Moore and Pelikka are both on the board at pick time. Maybe Moore and Reinbacher. All that will be left to fill in the next couple years will be wingers. Center will be locked up for the foreseeable future, RD will be a position of strength, and Detroit will still be able to field a marching band using only LD.

Kubalik only had 20 goals and 50 points. He is bad defensively. He is terrible at back checking, but the weird thing is, he always seems to be putting forth a ton of effort.

A 3rd is probably a little under value, but a 2nd is probably a little over value. If Kubalik gets a proper spot as a PP specialist and 4th line regular or 3rd line replacement, I think we can hold onto him. Replacing 20 goals and 50 isn't gonna be easy. A healthy Fabbri does that, but have we seen a healthy Fabbri?

Last I checked they have matthews, nylander to resign and 2 years after that marner. O’reilly if they choose to find a way to keep him. Other signings, leafs are a cap team and every penny counts so Yes they’re desperate to not have any money on the cap being wasted let alone 2 million

No one’s taking murray at almost 5 mill cap hit next season for free

Oh for sure , someone has to be there for Detroit to really want and the blues have to feel confident they can get someone they like falling back . This is internet scenario so I did the trade lol

Way i see it Peterson is making 11 million next 2 seasons . He alone should cost 1st + ... I know kings fans love spence but 0% chance anyone gives up a 1st for him just like as much as wings fans love wallinder 0% a team gives up a 1st for him atm. Kings are stacked on the right side at d , wings on the left side. I like Sebrango and i’d Prefer to move a viro, think he can be a pretty good defensive dman but I’d be willing to part with him since it’s obvious we’re not parting with edvinsson and wallinder as they should be the building block

I’d have np if it was grans from the kings side I just figured they’d want to keep him for his size. With doughty+clarke+ durzi/Roy and which ever of the 2 they keep it’s quite obvious they wont be lacking for right d help. Anyways i’d do a cal Peterson centered deal with picks involved . We can afford to take it on short term. We need to make more of those moves now While we can

2 million dollars isnt going to keep them from signing their starts, and they'd much rather have to have an 800k guy on the 4th line to save the money than pay a 1st for nothing. Mrazek with 2 years remaining cost a dozen spots in the draft, Murray will cost significantly less to move.

I was thinking bertucci, wahlberg, edstrom lol But Yes if we really like someone I think we should say **** it and move up. Always people I like in the later rounds and more often than not they never make it . With the russian league barely being scouted this year I’d take a gamble on a 6’5 right shot scorer but over pick 43. But hey that’s just me

Think could be good both sides . Be nice to keep all the 2nds but if we can trade up and end up with an Oliver Moore and help fix the Center depth of the team I think yzerman would do it . Possibly Leonard, reinbacher but I doubt both fall to 11

Murray's got a cheap buyout and if we look at What Dubas did to move Mrazek he moved down 13 spots so I doubt we see a cap dump

Murray did better than Mrazek when he was moved and has less term so if a trade occurs with a 1st a higher 2nd is coming back

I like how you assume Detroit falls to 11. Probably true because there's only a 2% chance that happens. Pelikka is the better bet for RD. Reinbacher is a 2nd pairing floor, and 2nd pairing ceiling. Pelikka has made significant progress from tbe midpoint this year and on; he's more NHL ready than people think, and he has top pairing ceiling. Obviously Seider is your top RD, but it sure would be nice to have another top flight D...sort of like the old days when other teams would celebrate when Konstantinov would come off only to see Lidstrom come over the boards.

Leafs need every penny if they want to ice a competitive team. Murray makes more than mrazek and that was a one off deal cause the hawks were desperate to get back in the 1st rd and are tanking . Cant see anyone taking on Murray , hawks already have mrazek , ducks have Gibson, coyotes & flyers have a goalie, habs won’t touch him. Who do you honestly think is going to be like ya cool we’ll move up 10 spots to take on a 5 million goalie who can never play? I don’t see it

Leafs want to buy him out. Good luck

Lol was actually talking about the canucks 11th pick and if we dealt with them to get Oliver moore . Ya i dont know about pelikka I’m not saying he won’t be great but it’s never a sure thing, especially that he’s a top pair dman. Think there’s more a chance he’s a 2nd pair guy who can put up #’s. I think for the wings reinbacher would be a way better fit . He play’s 20+ mins a night and is solid defensively. Think if wallinder pans out the way we all hope he will

    Edvinsson seider
    Wallinder reinbacher

Could be wrong but that top 4 looks like it might be one of the better d core in the league someday . Although i’d be going hard for highly offensive forward in the first round. Always easier to sign a ufa or make a trade for a 2nd pair dman

Walman is a thing. He is top pair, late bloomer Rafalski/Giordano style. Edvinsson gets to be 1b to Seider. With Pelikka, Detroit would have the 2 ultra skaters in Walman and Pelikka with the two big skaters. All 4 two way players.

Good luck

It's amazing how people keep saying the leafs will never move these contracts without paying a kings ransom and they need this cap space so so so bad that they'll be begging some team to take their 1sts and prospects to do it, yet the leafs keep moving the contracts for basically nothing.
