Rust is worth more than a 3rd. Perhaps a second and a B+ prospect due to his age. Even that would be low. His advanced stats are still top 6 worthy.

I've seen Pens fans offer him up for less. I view this as a cap dump for Pitts and Rust, being from Michigan, has a full NMC which puts the new GM in a tough spot.

a 22 yr old dmen only scoring at .28ppg pace in the NHL is far from a future top 4 dmen. The other is a soon to be 23 year old with a pile of pro experience he's at best a middle 6 forward likely more 3rd line player. These are players not hard to find.

DO we need a talk on draft picks and value... after the top ten draft pick value drops a lot. After top 15 they are far closer in value to 2nd round picks. Oh and on top of it all while many people are yelling about how deep this draft if it is extremely top heavy and gets watered down around pick 12-14. If you don't believe me I would recommend reading Elite Prospects they are the best in the game with NHL prospects.

I know a ton watched him play a bunch of AHL games where he in fact struggled with NHL style defending and at times really struggled with north American style of play which is far more skating and pressure than in sweden.

As for skating, this is the key to knowing you are just throwing **** out. SHL regulation rinks are bigger than the NHL's and, as such, skating is a much bigger component in the SHL than NHL.

Since you suggested reading up on eliteprospect's reports, you should take your own advice and read up on Johansson's reports that praise his mobility.
