The one thing I will say is I have seen guys leave go to another team and do so much better. Being a number 2 D vs a number 1 in CBJ might really do Provorov some good. As now he can sit back and do his thing while Werenski takes the spotlight

CBJ already have Werenski, he's the no.1 guy there (and head and shoulders above Provorov in overall ability).
Anyway, if this is the type of guy you're targeting to strengthen one of the weakest D corps in the league it'd have been much better to just send a 3rd for Brett Kulak or something.
Or hell, even Nathan Walker that's going to the Flyers in this 3 way would likely have achieved the same thing as acquiring Provy does, and at a fraction of the cost.

As for the deal, I see a lot more downside for CBJ in acquiring Provorov than upside.

Briere did very well to squeeze that much value out of a supremely overvalued player.

Seems to me that Jarmo's talents truly lie in tearing a team down in order to better facilitate a rebuild, which is not a bad thing.
I think Jarmo and his team is pretty good around the draft table also.

But it also seems to me that Jarmo is really weak in his abilities to build that team back up again.
Poor roster construction skills, terrible cap space management and awful at identifying the right players to elevate this team.
