I'm a little confused. Bunting definitely got his elbow up to the head... but he wasn't even looking that way. I don;t see how they can rule that an intent to injure. I know, I know, welcome to NHL officiating. But they really do routinely make the weirdest calls.

Then Keefe makes the worst challenge attempt I’ve ever seen
Oh man, the moment of existential realization on the face of that cutaway little fella in the stands was heartbreaking. It was like GOB Bluth went back in time and became a Leafs fan.

He left his feet though. He wasn't looking Cernaks way cause that's what you do to make yourself look innocent. Unfortunately for Buntings defense he forgot he wasn't supposed to leave his feet lol.

1 - Very true. It kinda looked like he was expecting shoulder to shoulder from his blind spot, but yeah. That's an issue.
2 - That is possible, but generally people cannot hit moving targets when they can't see them. Seems like he was focused on the puck, not like he was trying to achieve plausible deniability. Of course, he may just be a really good actor, but I still don't see how the refs make a determination on intent in this situation. Has to be intent to get a match penalty.

Do you think if he didn’t know Cernak was there he would’ve lifted his shoulder?
