2 1sts a 4th and a roster player is not a bad haul, you may think it's a lowball offer but it's not for a player who has not lived up to his draft pedigree.

Why is everyone sending the farm for PLD? Fiala last offseason was traded to LA for a 1st and a Struble level of prospect. He was also a pending RFA, coming off a career year, with 1 year of team control left. The Fiala trade is the perfect comp for PLD.

I like Farrel, but Gallagher's career is over so not sure the value there. I assume him and Dvorak are for AAV. I'd rather gamble on huberdeau rebounding and Sutter being fired than trading him for one prospect and some dead cap space.

Then why do Hab fans want him so badly? The kid has played sheltered mins on a team with a ton of top 6 talent and has barely had any PP time. That's why his numbers are not what people expect but that will change moving forward as the Kid Line gets lots more minutes and PP time next year and years to come. Sorry Hab fans, can't have him.

I think that both Calgary and Rangers say No.

Even if Gallagher LTIRetires, Huberdeau can be expected to rebound next season (perhaps with a change of coach) and Dvorak and Farrell are inadequate compensation for him, and if Gallagher stays on the roster, his contract is even worse than Huberdeau's.

NY isn't interested in downgrading from LaFreniere to Mesar, and with Lindgren, Miller and Harpur under team control for next season already and Zach Jones and Matt Robertson in the wings, they have less than no use for one year of Joel Edmundson.

Characterizing Brock Faber as a "Struble level of prospect" is absolutely the worst take on any player I've seen this month. Wow!!

You'll be lucky if Kaiden Guhle turns out to be as good.

How else would you characterize a player taken one spot ahead in the very next draft?! Faber is a good young B level prospect same as Struble, they have different play styles but literally the same draft pedigree.

Dubois is a C, which is more valuable than a winger. Faber is a better prospect than Struble, and is also a RHD not a LHD

Maybe Montreal should give up Hutson instead, since he has lower draft pedigree

Exactly 1 year ago tomorrow TSN put out a top 50 NHL prospects list that ranked Brock Faber at 37th in the league. In Scott Wheeler's list of u23 prospects he was an honorable mention for the top 50. I can say with a fair amount of confidence that Jayden Struble isn't making anyone's top 100 list. So try again with your comparison

So you're basing your analysis on draft position?!?!? Really?!?!?!

That explains why you're clueless about the difference between the guy who was named the Big Ten defender of the year TWICE and Jayden Struble.

Stuff happens after 18-year-olds get drafted. Aside from being a great defensive prospect and far superior to Struble in that regard, Faber scored more points in three NCAA seasons than Struble did in four.

And that was BEFORE he put up 27 points in 38 games (which is more than Struble put up in any TWO of his four seasons) as a junior, and played for the national championship.

PLD is a center and centers are usually more valuable except when the publicly make it known that they want to test FA.

two late firsts for a player who has showed that he is capable of scoring ~0.75 ppg with minimal PP time the last few months. He fits the rangers culture perfectly, that package is a joke for a first overall pick from only 3 years ago

I see you are an optimist, I am a realist though. 3 years is a long time in the NHL, the average career only lasts 10 years, he is a 3rd of the way through that. Whether you like it or not his value around the league is not 2 1sts+

I see you do not understand. He is worth far more than that to the rangers. There is no way they give him up for a bag of pucks where none of the pieces have any realistic chance of being as good as he is now, let alone reach what his potential is.

LMAO, as good as he is righ now?! You mean Drouin good? Right now Laf isn't that great, hopefully he is on the upswing but no one can be sure he has finally hit his stride. What I meant by Drouin good (before you get your panties in a bind) is that he shows flashes of skill and potential but always leaves you wanting more. I get that you like the kid and want to keep him, I like him and would like the Habs to acquire him, unfortunately his value isn't what you think it is right now. Also Mesar and the Cat's 1st have a good chance at being as good or better than what Laf currently is, they won't ever be as good as Laf could be but that is a different story.

Reread what I wrote and try to be a little less biased, maybe you will realize that I am the one being realistic here and you aren't. Probably not though cause I don't actually think you can be less biased about it given your last response.
