That's fair value for Dickinson. Hawks might not do it because as roster is built right now, Dickinson is the only veteran C the Hawks have for next season. He could be playing top 6 minutes next season depending on what other trades or UFA signings Hawks make. If Hawks can resign Domi and roll Domi and Guttman as their top 6 C's, they would probably consider this.

Olofsson with retention to a team who could use scoring and help on the PP could return significantly more than a late third.
Carolina would be a perfect option.
The Canes gave up a decent prospect, Patrik Puistola (about the same value as Rousek or Paltapove), for a failed project.
Jesse has spent 50% of his playing time either Koteniemi or Aho and has ONE pt.
Give Olofsson those same centers he would have 3 or 4 goals by now and reach 25 to 30 for the season.

Buffalo could be as much as the Canes first round for Victor and the Flyers 2nd or take Carolina's 2023 2nd and 2024 3rd (both very late nearly a third and fourth).
The second option would actually have a little more value, it just appears the first round pick has more value.

I think that 2nd in the Sharks trade is a conditional 1st. No way they do that.

The only question I would consider is is a 3rd good value for Dickinson and for me that answer is yes. I make that trade all day long. If Dicksinson is in your top 6, your team is going to suck which is okay because that really is the point in a full teardown. If you replace him with nothing....you are just as bad of a team so nothing ventured nothing gained. There are plenty of ways to find mediocre centers you can play in your top 6. Offer Toews a 2 year 10 million contract and I bet he is healthy enough to lead the rebuild (hell front load that deal so he can retire...errr...I mean become unable to play after a year). Call Anaheim and tell them you are interested in Henrique's last year at 5.825 with one of the 5 2nd round picks they hold in the next 2 drafts and I bet the only conversation from there would be deciding which 2nd they are willing to give up. There are plenty of dude's like Henrique around the league that their teams would pay you to take them.
