Description
Give the kids a chance to prove if they’re ready and make trades for veterans at deadline if required. Probably won’t happen with this GM but it should.

You'll have to attach a nice sweetener for SJ to take that JC contract.

Why is San Jose paying anything for a $20 mil cap dump? Should be multiple high end pieces coming to San Jose for taking Campbell

It won't happen with this GM but it also won't happen with this coach. Look at how Bouchard was played last year and how Broberg & Holloway have been played this season.

I know but they usually give them a better chance the second year and Lavoie and Niemelainen have to go thru waivers next year so they’ll have to keep them up at least to start the year. Otherwise I can see them being claimed. Bourgault may be the one that won’t be given the opportunity.

Campbell has had an off year and is coming out of it. SJ has no NHL calibre goalie in their system and no free agent goalie will want to sign with them while they’re rebuilding. Edmonton could throw in a prospect.

I agree that Lavioe is likely kept on the roster due to waiver eligibility, but not in the top-6. Also Bourgault isn't waiver eligible next year so most likely he gets sent down late in TC.

I'm not sure about Niemelainen. I reckon he would pass through waivers late in camp. There are dozens of players on waivers every day as camp draws to a close, so there's less risk. I also don't mind the idea of him staying on as 7D if he's ready.

Sure a prospect and multiple 1sts and it’s good. They have plenty of goalies in their system, they won’t be good for years anyway so there’s no need to sign a ufa. I don’t care if he’s coming out of it he’s still bad and going to worse team he will be atrocious.

What better way to guarantee another first overall pick.

They don’t need $20 mil cap dump for that though
