Yep. Too many young guys passing him on the depth chart. He deserves to go somewhere where he can get more minutes. He's still a young player. He just needs a fresh start.

Exactly. I think Yzerman will do right by Zadina. He's done everything he's been asked to do. Great attitude. He works hard. He's never been a distraction. He's a good teammate. He just hasn't panned out. Unfortunately his trade value isn't very high.

I'd hate to see him go (and I really want him to pan out, he obviously has the work ethic and isn't spoiled), but it just isn't going to work - he'll get outdepthed. Either he gets traded as a reclamation project or becomes an AHL-star.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if they're all traded anyway. I don't see them as core. Veleno in particular has become the sort of guy Stevie might throw into a deal as a sweetener.

All 3 players are part of the Holland era. They're all expendable in my opinion. They don't really hurt us. But we're starting to draft and develop better options which means Yzerman is doing his job.

Problem with Veleno is he's turning into a 4th line center who doesn't kill penalties. That's not very useful long-term. I'm still hoping he turns into that 3rd line center or if not at least a 4th line C who *can* win faceoffs and kill penalties.
