This ACGM should show Jets fans how PLD doesn't fit here. This while drafting a center with top pick while Big Willy Styles is moved to the wing and dumping Dvorak

This is disappointing. I thought someone would call Dvorak a cap dump. Another yahoo called Mike Matheson a cap dump last week (17 pts in last 21 games). I assume every Habs player is a cap dump in the eyes of some, here.

well, from your post, you could improve a lot this team by adding pld. dach might be a better winger than center so far. Mesar has not looked good too. This post sort of proves how much better we would be with him.

They arent competing for a playoff spot in 2 years. This lineup is developing otherwise Hutson isnt on the 3rd pair nor is Roy in the minors and Mailloux not a regular. PLD isnt a solution now, then or later in the future.

Dubois would 100% fit on MTL's 1st line. This line up doesnt make any sense.

You would trade for him with assets then pay his salary demands? It doesnt make sense to make a play for him when they'll draft between 1-7OA and have 4-5 star centers that likely will be better than PLD in that range. I have them picking 5th OA here and Will Smith who's a center.

Its 2 years down the road. No one knows the development curve to say with confidence one way or the other.

personally i dont think i would trade for him, but i could understand why some people would. i'd rather we rebuild trough the draft

I'm personally sick of hearing about him and glad I never make ACGMs with him on the roster. I rather they grow organically with the same core instead of adding to it, they should be complementing it.

Its really, really rare a bonafide young superstar is added to a winning core. Maybe Marian Hossa but he wasn't that young with the Hawks, I'd probably consider him, more complementary, next to Kane, Toews and Keith. OReilly with the Blues in 2019, maybe.

Caufield, Slaf, Suzuki, Dach, Hutson, Mailloux, Farrell, and maybe Roy with whomever they draft in the 1st round in 2023 and 2024 should be a core that can win cups in the future. They can also add a goalie later on like the Avs in 2022, Wings and Hawks cup runs.

i mean all cups winner had usually pretty big adds trough free agency or trade. might not be dubois but the rosters is gonna be more than just the players we draft.

Like who? Name them. Off the top of my head i cant think of a legit superstar, I mean complementary players. Guys the Bolts added were all complementary like Coleman, Goodrow, Mcdonagh. The only one close is Sergachev and all the Bolts had to give up was Drouin whom was a malcontent and out the door anyways. The last legit superstar added to a cup winner was probably Chara in Boston, its quite rare.
Dubois would require a lottery pick or a player like Dach, no thank you

well there are barely any stars players traded or in FA too, it makes sense there is not a lot of exemples. But the thing we definitly agree is that we should not overpay for dubois given our position in the rebuild right now.

Agreed. Its an exercise futility. Let the kids develop, no shortcuts. But i know Hughes honeymoon period will end at some point. They are competitive rn so fans are fine with losing but if more losses like last week to the Cats and Avs happen on a regular basis then the fans will turn on Hughes maybe in the next 1-2 years

I dont know how I even forget Guhle above with the kids. This team has a really solid future as theyll hit their peak in 3-5 years with the contenders aging out. The Sens, Sabres will be the competition but seeing how those teams have reacted in the past month with meaningful games and the Habs performance through an historic amount of injuries. The intangibles factor seems to be leaning Habs from the leadership Price, Weber built through in the core. Sens/Sabres haven't gotten over that loser mentality hump
