In what world is this realistic?

Honestly I don't think anyone is going to pay for Goodrow with his term, might have a hard time moving him.

Cap is not going up to 87.5, i wish it was tho. I think we keep kane not Vlad, bring othmann up next year, goodrow will prob be gone but were gonna have to add unless a team wants him and dont care about the cap hit like the wild with Reaves.

Wishful thinking on Kane agree to a single year at 3. Giroux signed 3 years X 6.5 per last year at a similar point in his career as Kane will be this Summer (and Kane is decent bit better then Giroux) regardless of what metric you want to compare with). Buffalo and Chicago are just two of the obvious options likely to put 3 years and 6ish a year on the table. Chicago won't have much else to spend their cap on in the next 2-3 years and Buffalo clears 10 million in cap with Okposo and Bishop expiring deals. 2 comfortable "home" options with the Sabres a reasonable sell as an up and coming playoff contender.

That's old news. Update is they probably won't, escrow % locked in, would have to renegotiate. Bettman teasing with before & after numbers, just to show nhlpa they'll have to pay up. Even if they negotiate, cap wouldn't jump so fast

Cap is pretty much locked in at $1m increase unless they negotiate a new figure. They have $100m left to pay, which is only expected to drop to $70m by end of year. Any changes in revenue due to Regional Networks failing will hit 2023-24 projections. So while they expect to pay down balance next year, it is not a guarantee. If they did, cap would revert back to previous formula, so likely to see a big jump for 2024-25.
