I love Khusnutdinov. He was my #1 target for the Caps that draft year.

Trying to get some Rus for when Miro comes over. Hopefully Caps get a top 10 pick and Michkov drops to them.

If you can get that for Kuzy I would do it, but there is zero chance they go into the season with 10m in space, would definitely get a legit top line winger to fill that void. Suz has been really good this year but he's still 2 years out from the NHL

See I disagree. He has great speed and a deadly shot. I would maybe lend him to the KHL (assuming they don’t send him to military) like we did w Protas but I wouldn’t send him to juniors again. Massive waste of development.

9m is already spend next year
    Wilson
    Sandin
    McM
    Protas

Can’t spend money we need for players unless it’s purely rental which we don’t want / need to waste assets on

So do the Wild which is why we'd politely decline this trade. That and Kuzy isn't the long term 1C this team is looking for. We also can't afford his contract, even with retention.

Better than being a between the period guy + he gets to be a buddy coach which he is.

“Awful” getting a great prospect + 2 good picks to free up 5m at a position we are deep at? Yeah awful lol

Accept Kuzy is a good player with speed and I’d much rather have him at this time for the caps the. A prospect and a pair of 2nds is not good enough when we r trying to contend. I would take that if we were rebuilding but we r not

We'll see how he looks in camp but I would be absolutely shocked if he does not go back to juniors.

You spend the money now when ovi is one year younger and deal with consequences next year. The 4 guys you just mentioned will be getting maybe a combined 5m raise, 6 if Sandin really breaks out.
