I just chose the Ducks because Bill Guerin seems to trade with them a lot. Any team who gives the best offer would work in that trade.

So Freddy G is a UFA, PK/d-zone 3/4C, 44p last year, 29p+ this year, and is stupidly good in the shootout gets:
-$300k/yr more than Duhaime (RFA, 8p, can't stay healthy)?
-$250k/yr less than Sundqvist (worse stats and a winger)?
-Where is the incentive for him to stay for a below market rate when he's never had a payday?

Idk about all that. Maybe a month or two ago, but if Raddysh can keep up this pace, and if you consider his cap hit and RFA status, he should be worth more than Steel and a (probably) late 2nd. What are Steel's rights really worth, anyway? I wouldn't mind seeing Steel in a Hawks sweater, but not like this. I'd much rather keep Raddysh and revisit his trade value at next years TDL.

You make a good point but I'm assuming his recent play isn't sustainable. He's an average skater and shooter and is riding a hot streak right now but I don't think this is the production we'll see going forward. To me this is a sell high scenario. Raddysh to Steel seems like a lateral move and the Hawks aquire another decent pick as a result of the Hagel trade. I can see both sides on this one but I lean more towards accepting this trade.

I mean... Yeah, it's a hot streak, but it is a good sign that he is coming into his own and could be turning into a relatively consistent NHL forward, and still has more upside to be explored. This increased production is part of getting a larger role and proving he can handle it. A 20 goal scorer at $925K should be worth more than a reclamation project and a 2nd, IMO. At this point, I think this would be selling low and a knee jerk trade. Again, I'd much rather hang onto him until next years TDL, we should be able to get a package that is as good or better by that point.

I also think that GMKD is moving out of that first "tear down" stage of the rebuild. I don't think he'll be looking to move on from players quickly like he did up to this past TDL. Especially since giving some of these guys raises will help get us to the cap floor.

I would sell high on Raddysh because I see his value capping at a 2nd rounder next deadline, but could also see him fall off just as easily as being worth the draft pick. The hawks need to give him lots of ice time for him to be worth something and I would rather take my chances giving that ice time to a UFA with more name value.

I'd rather just keep him.

In the sense that someone has to play and it might as well be him I am okay with him staying.
