You watched the last couple games? If they managed to trade for Demko he sure wouldn't to be a backup to Tarasov. That boy isn't looking NHL ready. They're going to have to be very selective with his starts next year.

Michkov isn’t even able to sign in the NHL until 2026 at this point, so if he is the draft pick you might as well say that you’re going for Misa in a few years too.

There is no way the Jackets should sniff anywhere around Michkov at the draft.
The Jackets have been burned with 3 very highly touted Russsian players/prospecxts:
Panarin (didn't want to be in Columbus), Nikita Filatov (complete head case and bust) and Nicolai Zherdev (had some talent, lasted a couple years in the states, but eventually bolted back to Russia).

There are some questions surrounding Michkov as they pertain to intangibles and off ice type issues, from what I've read.
There is no doubt he has a very high end skill set.
But the Jackets should not take a risk on him and stick with a list of true centers on their draft board: Bedard, Fantilli, Carlson, Benson or Smith.

elvis needs good defense in front of him to be good, and vancouver doesn't have that either. he won't flourish there
