The two best players are coming from Winnipeg and there isn't enough there for PLD alone so the Jets aren't adding Barron.

Dvorak has a knee injury and its damaged goods as well as being an expensive 4C on Winnipeg. He has negative value to the Jets so take him out and change him to Beck.

Harris is a LHD and has no value to Winnipeg. Take him out.

Kidney is an okay C level prospect and has some value

The Florida 23 first is good and required.

The 25 first is too far in the future to carry much value so change that to Roy or a 2nd in 23 or 24.

These changes should at least make your offer competitive with the others the Jets get.

The offers need to be based on the Horvat or Meier returns to be realistic.

Take out Harris and Calgary's 1st and add a 3rd and it's a good fair deal

Proof as to what I was saying earlier about people who view Dvorak as damaged goods and that he has no value now being ridiculous. Andre Svechnikov just underwent season ending knee surgery but I bet Windjammer doesn't say he has no value and is damaged goods! Players get hurt it's part of the game but as long as they aren't serious injuries like Eichel's was or the same recurring injury or career ending injury their value doesn't diminish

It's funny that you compare Dvorak to Svechnikov. Svech is worth taking a chance on if he is injured, Dvorak isn't. Until Dvorak comes back and shows he can play he has no value.

Dvorak would be the Jets 2nd or 3rd best center if PLD was gone. Just cause you don't like the player doesn't make him bad. He is better than Namestnikov and as good or slightly better than Lowry. He isn't overpaid, he is actually on a good long term contract for a middle 6 center.

I never compared the players I compared their injury status and how you said Dvorak is damaged goods and his value has tanked, whereas you are proving me right again when you say Dvo's value is tanked because of his injury and surgery but Svechnikov's is just fine when he has the same injury and surgery. It's always a double standard with you, you say Habs players suck then when presented with a different player in the same situation and as long as it's not a Habs player that player is great and his value is just fine. You just simply don't like the Habs and want to troll anytime you can. Dvo is no Svechnikov not even close but it's not like he is a 4C even on the Jets either.

Yes Dvorak is a 4C on Winnipeg. Like it or not. He's about the same as Lowry offensively, but many times worse defensively, so Lowry is absolutely ahead of him. Dvorak isn't a top 6 center. He isn't in Montreal, he isn't in Winnipeg. The Jets will have to get someone else for 2C. Dvorak simply isn't good enough. So, if he can't play in the top 6, he can't beat out Lowry then that makes him a 4C by default and he's too expensive and too bad defensively for that role.

Dvorak's value is tanked compared to Svechnikov's because Dvorak isn't worth a lot to start work. Why take a chance taking damaged goods and hoping he recovers when you can easily find similar players to play 4C and only have to pay them about 25% of what Dvorak makes. He's just not good enough to risk him not recovering. What he provides is easily found, so why take the chance?

Svech on the other hand is a first like winger. What he provides is infinitely harder to find than what Dvorak provides and is worth taking the chance on. I can't see how you can't understand that.

Beck is not for sale and PLD is not worth 2 firsts, a roster defensemen and a prospect forward, LET ALONE Roy,second, a first, Kidney and Beck. PLD doesn't hold much weight at all with his abandoning teams issue and having his agent say he wont resign after the second round of RFA. Put down the pot. The returns will never be like Meier or Horvat because those two were team leaders and scoring dynamos when traded, PLD is known for being a ****head in the locker room.

He lives in fantasy land. He thinks PLD is going to net a larger return than both Horvat and Meier. Both of those teams were trading from a position of strength while the Jets will be trading from a position of weakness. That’s what he doesn’t understand. Jets have no choice but to trade Dubois or lose him for nothing.

Meier was a special case with that 10 mil QO coming up this summer. Most of the teams looking at trading for him were only interested if he came with an extension in place.

And PLD is a special case. He’ll only sign with a few teams.

Matthew Tkachuk would only sign with 5 teams and look what he got. If Montreal is the -only- place PLD will sign then Montreal doesn't need to trade for him at all but if he will sign with even just a few other teams there'll be a bidding war.

Besides Meier had a 10 mil QO, Tkachuk a 9 mil QO. PLD's QO is a bargain at just 6 mil, he'll get quite a bit more than that no matter where he winds up... Including if he plays out his last year of RFA eligibility and signs as a UFA with Montreal.

I’m not saying you’re wrong btw. But 5 teams is a lot. You’re getting a 100 point player who comes with no baggage. That’s going to cost you an arm and a leg regardless, especially with that kind of competition on the trade front. Tkachuk is absolutely worth a lot more than Dubois.

It appears to me that Dubois will only play for a big market team or just Montreal.. if it’s just Montreal then there is no point in trading for him, just wait until he’s a ufa. But I believe it’s the market that matters to him. He forced his way out of Columbus, we all thought it was the coach, but now he’s forcing his way out of Winnipeg, two small markets. I think he wants to be in a market where is skills are appreciated.

There are probably only roughly 10 big market teams in the league. Chicago, Toronto, Rangers, Montreal, Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, LA, Washington and Philly.

Chicago is in the beginning of a rebuild, Toronto isn’t trading for him, Rangers could I guess but it would be tough, Boston could sign him but don’t have the assets to acquire him, Pittsburgh can’t afford him, Detroit I’d be worried about, LA can’t afford him, Philly is entering a rebuild and have Torts as coach, Washington can’t afford him.

It’s probably between Montreal and Detroit, that’s the only team you have to outbid in a trade and we have more assets than them that we’re willing to move.

Comparables to the Dubois deal are going to be closer to Horvat and Meier.

Meier went for what is essentially two (late) 1sts and a 2nd.

Horvat essentially went for a middling 1st, a B+ / A- prospect and a bottom 6 forward.

You can expect the Jets to receive something along the lines of FLA 1st, Mailloux and Dvorak. You could see another B prospect thrown in there or a 2nd but this is basically what the return will look like.

The list was never disclosed. Obviously Florida was one the Blues were almost certainly another. Other than those two it's anyone's guess. My guess would be Tampa possibly Vegas and Boston or Colorado.
