Going with these moves frees up $7.7m in cap space for the following year (2024-2025) when Matthews gets bumped to $15m/yr and Nylander gets bumped to $10m/yr ($6,397,384) and when Liljegren goes from $1.4 to $2.5 and Lafferty goes from $1.15 to $2.0 ($900+$850 = 1.75m) - Total increases = $8,147,384
The cap should go up AT LEAST another $1-$2m which will allow for the wiggle room needed to sign depth players needed to take over Giordano/Brodie/Schenn/Gustafsson #6/7/8/9 D-man depth roles.

Year after - Tavares is gone and his $11m that gets freed up is more than enough for Marner to get bumped to $15m/yr and extend Samsonov/McCabe/Timmins/Woll to long term deals or replace them with upgrades.

If Acciari/O'Rielly/Kane/Samsonov cost a bit more to sign... add years instead of $$$ if possible, and if not - just don't sign Gustafsson/Schenn, go cheaper/younger bench warmers instead.
