Rushing the rebuild is the best way to f up the rebuild.

let the bad contracts of Armia and Gallagher go through the progression until they either expire and go on LTIRetired respectively.

Stock the system, let the young guys get experience, the Suzuki/Caufield/Guhle's of this team will only be 24-25-ish years old by that time, still entering their prime.

Hart and Georgiev are not remotely comparable here. Hart is a good starting goaltender on a **** team. Georgiev was a mediocre backup on a decent team.

Hart will cost similar to or more than what Toronto paid for Freddy Andersen

Replace Davidson with Beck and it’s closer
Davidson isn’t worth a contract spot IMO

I agree Hart is worth more, but nothing about his consistency has shows he's worth a 1st and a 2nd.

He's talented, but man, watching him attempt to put together 5 consistent starts in a row has been near impossible.

A bit unbalanced up front ... Dach should be a top 6 player, Gurianov & Armia as the top-2 RWs bodes quite a bit of uncertainty. Roy and Ylonen are certainly talented but even as young players might not be well served as 4th liners. Still, potentially competitive team

I feel like RFA rights and a full year of PLD is more valuable than Horvat at the deadline, so downgrading the prospect doesn't make sense to me. And also the potential of that 1st round pick being two years away also dilutes the offer IMO.

Hart has not been a good starter in nearly 4 years, his numbers dropped of significantly after the 19-20 season and are just starting to rebound (maybe). Also no way does Hart get a 1st and 2nd, Anderson was coming off 3 straight years of a .914 of better sv% not 3 straight years of sub .910 sv%, At best you could argue 2 2nds or a 2nd and 3rd but no way a team pays a 1st and a 2nd.

I've always targeted Kidney as a prospect the Jets would want in a PLD trade...don't know if that throws the value off too much for this trade though.

I don’t see any reason derailing our rebuild to chase players we don’t need and aren’t going to win us anything. Karlsson is a wonderful talent but he needs to play for a contender. And I am beyond sick of hearing about Dubois. I really hope he ends up elsewhere so we can be done with this saga.

A Team Title like that and you're not going to offer us your stab at whom Montreal might select in the first round? Tsk, tsk . . . that's why I came here!

My guess is Benson/Dvorsky/Smith and Reinbacher/Sandin Pellikka/Wood.

It's almost like Hart is on one of the worst teams in the league or something lol. The Flyers will NOT trade Hart unless you massively overpay so you're trade isn't close.

Kinda hard to play 5 consistent games in a row when the rest of the team is horrible and when he starts 73% of the games. He was one of the best goaltenders at around the 20 game mark (still is one of the best 5v5 goalies this season), but the big workload he has been given probably has affected his play

That's a lot less than the Horvat trade as Beauviller is better than Dvorak and Raty is decent while Davidson is a long shot to be a full time AHLer. Not to mention there is no chance the Jets wait until 24 for a protected first.

Trades need to work for both teams not be totally slanted in Montreal's favour. It's an extremely easy no from Winnipeg because it isn't even slightly realistic.

See I agree with you, but apparently the ask is a top 10 pick in 23 and a high level prospect (stupid I know).
I can see the argument being hes on a horrible team and has struggled behind a poor D for years, and the fact he is 24 going to be 25 next year so he is still very young for a goalie (goalie prime is typically 26-32)
I could see a team with 2/3 1sts, who are progressing well through their rebuild but lack a legit starter/ future starter taking a flyer, but I wouldn't give up anything earlier than the 26th OA and a b-/c+ grade prospect. And I'm not 100% sure Montreal is 1 solid starter away from the playoffs just yet.

See i like Hart but i think we gotta add a 2nd rounder or a 3rd.

Karlsson the values seems off but thats cause there's no RS
As long as SJS is not willing to Retain Salary then year that puts MTL in the running at a package like this.

PLD doesnt make sense anymore if Karlssons here.
Cant afford both without wishing Gallagher onto LTIR and screwing the kids ice time

My guess if the our highest pick is 3rd or 4th it's Carlsson or Smith with the Habs pick and the later pick will be Reinbacher, Heidt or ASP

Too bad according to Howie it doesn't need to work both ways since this is all prediction and speculation anyway. So the Jets accept and we get PLD for the above package and if you have any complaints direct them at Howie for his comments on a previous thread

If Gally is healthy we simply move him to 3RW and let Roy play meaningful minutes in Laval in a top 6 role (might be better for him anyway).

He's naturally talented, but you see him make regular positional errors and is good for one softie per game.... hard to build a solid career without overcoming those two fundamental problems.

The Flyers have been dog **** though..... what a dumpster fire, maybe a change of scenery helps him, but unless he overcomes the above, he'll be a mid-tier goalie, not someone you're trying to compete with.

Still young, hopefully he lives up to that talent.
