They wont give up their 1st.
I've tried scenario's i thought would work.
But unless we're giving them the missing piece like with Kuemper or Lehkonen (Barron was a 1st round pick in 2020)
its a no

STL is easier to deal with they got multiple with i think 25 and 29th OA
I got them on board trading our 1st from FLA for both theirs. taking us from 15th to 25th and 29th.

Like it stipulates, gives AVS the possibility of flipping Edmudson for another pick (5th to 7th round probably);
Gives them two NHLers for their 3rd and 4th lines under 2M$ each; Again, possible to move them at TDL if need be; and picks.. while some may think their 1st pick vs what is included above is unrealistic, their pick will not be top 20th. They'll move up and it will be down the line; Habs do get an extra pick to rebuild; and move contracts out to make space for Harvey-Pinard, Belzile, Gurianov and the possible return of Gallagher (who's contract makes him untradeable)..

Again, just a what if and what would move scenario to get to that 23 player threshold and keep lots of space under cap for the eventual resignings and UFA market in a year of two...

Hey, not against that either. STL could be the dance partners Habs need. This was justa thought knowing Avs would need picks; Habs have some to spare, and players they may need under the 2M$ mark without too many years attached.

Habs most likely won’t get Bedard. There’s a 91.5% chance that they don’t get him and there’s only a 8.5% chance they get him.

Tell me what were the chances Rangers get Laffy before confirming habs won't win lottery...
If it was the last team winnig every year, there would be no lottery.

Why even comment? This is the what if scenario... Seriously.. Why even comment ... we all know the chances.. but .. this is the WHAT IF they get it.. Hey Oilers got so many first picks in 5 years at some point they had 0.00001% change and still got it.. NYR .. same!! ...

I have no clue why some people even come to these and comment when these are what if's scenarios.. This site is fun, but some just take the fun out of it.. Too bad we can't just block them from ever commenting on any future post.. Ignoring them isn't helping weed them out.

At least you got it!!

LOL!

Ave's pick is gonna prob be in the mid to late 20s, and our 2023 second rounder is probably going to be a top 40 pick. Why would we add all that just to move up probably around 10 spots in the draft (Eddy half retained prob gets a first on his own next year if he's healthy)

I agree that we should look at moving all those pieces away cause they don't fit with our long term future, but they all should have some positive value

listen man the 25 overall pick or so is likely not to even play in the nhl.....this is a way overpay. Relax. We have maybe a top 5 and another top 16 and that is great ... we dont need to overpay for a pick. We will get two great players already plus a high sec round pick. No they will only trade what moves the rebuild forward and not a panic trade. Move edmunsdon or dvorak for a second rounder sure when the tim is right. But they are not selling away all our pieces to try to get a very late first pick. Col is going to win a round or two and be picking quite late.... their pick has the value of a Mccarron or even a guy who wont play... very rarely does a 25 th pick or later become something good... usually they best is fourth line or 3rd pairing def... so we are not trading the farm for it....we are so lucky to have florida's unportected pick and that pick could be a solid player.

Bedard - Anderson with one of Farrell, Gurianov, RHP are most likely better fits. Though it will probably be Hoffman if he's still here.

Slafkovsky might need some AHL time after missing so much of this season, we'll have to see. Not producing at the NHL level isn't helping his development, but the progress of the defense and finding some line chemistry could help get him going. Just might need to go through some reps to get back up to speed with top minutes in the minors.

Further down the road I'd be looking at Roy with Bedard and Slafkovsky. Provided of course all 3 players reach their potential.

True, on another post I made, I sent Slaf to the minors for next year. He definitely needs it. It showed this year that he may not have been the best of the bunch. Still can't figure out why Wright was not the Habs choice, while he had attitude, it may have been a good thing to get on the Habs, send him down to the AHL to develop and in a year or so he'll pass Slaf ... Attitudes can be changed when surrounded by good people, ex players that can set you back on planet earth. Talent, that's harder to get.
