Outside the obvious of losing the Thrill...

How are the Wild to fill 5 forward, 3 defense and 1 goalie spot with 11m and stay competitive the next two years without Kaprizov feeling like it's two years lost?

L.O.L. The cap hit goes up $2M next year, and the cap goes up 1M, net 1M deficit. As of the deadline they had ~12M in space this year, and....... last I checked are a top 2 team in the central, so, I don't really understand how they are all the sudden going to become not competitive other than this fantasy land of thinking you could get a hart trophy candidate for pennies on the dollar.

3 firsts ain't pennies. And of course I noted it was be a huge ask so take the deal with a grain of salt.

Cap is going up 1m next year and might not get the huge leap in two years as expected given some revenue streams drying up with some broadcast markets.

Boldy contract is big leap. Guess you forgot? Either way, find 9 players that will be effective for 12m to fill out the roster? Maybe you get a big leap from Addison or Faber, it will be a different year next year. There are important depth guys and defenseman that aren't coming back to Minni and the West may not be as weak.

The only important players MN could/should lose this offseason are Dumba and Freddy G. The rest are just less than $1m/yr plugs. They have a decent enough prospect pool that it's fair to guess at least a couple of ELCs make NHL pushes in the next couple of seasons. There are lots of dime a dozen league players floating around every offseason.
