Marner is a great player, but he’s only under contract for 2 more years. Kyrou is 2.5m cheaper for the next 8 and looks like a PPG guy. Vrana and Kappy make sense for the Blues right now because their good pieces to either flip at TDL or sign for reasonable extensions next year.

Marner is the motor on the top 2 lines. If JT or Matthews are slumping, they put Marner with them to get their play up. No leaf is put with Marner because he is not producing. Leafs best forward Pk, only player on the #1 unit in ever situation, guys like Marner don't come around very often, to trade him is crazy.

This was a huge fantasy, definitely not real. If it came too it Marner would be the last person I would trade on the leafs
