I don't know, but it certainly isn't that. Liljegren's inclusion is totally non-sensical in a trade like that (or almost any trade for that matter)

Now that would be horrendous for the Leafs. Trading two NHL Dmen, especially Liljgren.

Trading two NHL dmen is irrelevant when you already have nine of them. But yeah trading Liljigren would be a big surprise just find it a bit odd that they would scratch him tonight.

Ha! This thread is as prime an example as any of how fans overvalue their team's players while undervaluing the other team's players.

Nope. More so a lack of proper reading comprehension and awareness from posters like you. How is this a troll job when both sides vehemently dislike the move?

Ducks fans want the moon for everything and the best asset in this deal is Liljegren. It's a ridiculous trade. And it's not the first time you have posted trades that absolutely heavily favor the other team. You are among the many fans posing as leaf fans to chirp leaf fans on this site.

Holl is a pending UFA who has no value to us, Robertson at this point is a gamble since it doesn't seem like he can stay healthy long enough to have a NHL career, so we are wary of trading for him and wouldn't give much up to do so. Liljigren is a fine player, but not the kind of Defenseman the Ducks really need right now, as we need defensemen that prioritize their own end over the offensive zone.

Since we see no reason to ship out Henrique and pay half his tab this season AND next unless there is a first round pick involved, plus you have us sending out a retained Kulikov, Warren, and a third for essentially Liljigren, we have to decline this offer, as it doesn't make sense for our roster.

That's because Leafs fans demand 50% retention on everything and we're not inclined to do that unless we get paid for it.

Feels like Liljegren should only really be moved in a trade that upgrades his position - ie, let's say Calgary offered up Rasmus Andersson, THEN you offer Liljegren in a trade like that.

I think the value just isn't there for what Anaheim would want out of this deal, and I don't think it makes a ton of sense for Toronto to turn Lily & Holl into Henrique and Kulikov, even with the retention.

Oooookay lets just settle this right here and now. You'd think a real Leafs fan would have made more teams on this platform than your lone ACGM team titled 'The Best Possible Move', where you essentially give away Robertson, Voight and Kerfoot for NOTHING! Do yourself a huge favor and learn some discernment before appointing yourself judge and jury of people.

It was a hypothetical guess trying to gage where we're going based on the circumstances. We have 9 NHL dmen and possibly a hole at 2LW and are fully in must-win-now mode. My actual preference if we're leaning on trading Lily would be to package him for a more impactful return like Andersson and also would have preferred that with Sandin but in the end, circumstances tend to play a role this time of year.

Gave them away for nothing eh? At the time, Kerfoot had to go to make the cap work and I gave away nothing of importance for ROR. Thats not giving away Liljegren for worse players because I want to fight with leaf fans.

The "scraps" remaining are the best that is left to be had, and there are multiple teams still pushing for a fighting chance, and as with all things, players will go to the highest bidder. Toronto and Boston have committed to going all in on this cup run, with several others making pickups to be in the conversation. If you think the current roster is enough to get past the Bruins, then fine, but if the Leafs get knocked out after all the capital that has been dropped this year, it's going to look real bad.

We don't feel were being unreasonable asking for a 2023 1st for Henrique 50% retainer given his remaining term, especially since he is an impactful and versatile forward, and Toronto pulled a very similar trade earlier this week to pickup McCabe.

At a certain point making more moves is counter productive. You need to get the roster comfortable into the playoffs. And adding new bodies adds wrinkles and yes what is left is scraps. Why spend big on guys that don't help you? Kulikov and Henrique are just not really an improvement over what we have now.

And there's the homer talk. Rico is a huge improvement over Kerfoot, though at this point you really have no use for Kulikov with recent acquisitions.

You still gave away Robertson and Voight for literally nothing which constitutes an overpayment. I overpaid in a hypothetical deal where I am actually trying to question what Dubas might be up to which is clearly evident in my title and in my comments.

Now, at first glance I did like Warren as a potential K'Andre Miller type, but after further review not so much. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong and I welcome feedback. However, you took this a step further. When exactly have I ever chirped or fought Leaf fans? Name even one instance. Can you give any examples of my many trades heavily favoring the other team? 99% of the trades I've put out there have been flamed by the other team.

I put out quite few ACGM teams thus open myself to a lot of criticism and I don't mind the criticism but you've got other issues here bud. The only one here chirping and trying to fight any Leafs fan is you.
