Could Puljujarvi taken a bit more agency in hiring a skills coach? Maybe. Having a coaching staff that didn't objectively hate him (both McLellan and Woodcroft refused to play him more than 8 minutes a night) or an organization willing to support a top pick right out of the gate would have been nice.

I think this exact player type is the one that sees the greatest difference between European vs NA rink size. The playstyle is so vastly different, a player who has basically nothing but raw skill can thrive in EU. Much harder, if not impossible in NA.
