Dude, my opinion is based on
1) Toronto's track record (no 2nd round win in 20 years)
2) TB's line up (let me know which position Toronto is stronger. I'll wait)
3) Dubas won't be renewed without at least making it to the eastern conference final
4) Toronto's draft assets are weak ( 6/8 of the 1st and 2nd are gone in the next 4 years) and prospect pool is in the last tier of the league.
5) Matthews hitting free agency in 2024
Those are all facts and they lead to only one place: Long rebuild.
Amazing how you say "those are all facts" when most of them are false or highly debateable.
Shows how biased you actually are.
Lets go through your points:
1) This is the only actual fact. However, the last 20 years isn't relevant to this season. Last year is relevant and the series was a coin flip.
2) The series last year was neck and neck. Its a very close series and other than goaltending I could make a case for the Leafs D or forward group.
3) This isn't a fact at all. Just an idea you pulled out of your a$$
4) Their prospect pool is quite good. Completely false.
5) Matthews likely won't even get to free agency. Even if he did, Nylander and Marner would re-sign and the team would still be very competitive with an extra 11.6 mill in cap space.
