We're a touch short on those first round picks. As for better prospects, That's fine. Anyone not named Hughes, Nemec or Holtz would be on the table.

Foote, 2nd, 4th = late 1st, no?

That is saying Foote doesn't have 3rd round value.

I'm just not high enough on Foote. Not saying that it needs to be a better prospect *AND* the picks, just that I'd want something higher end.

That's fair. Personally I would be open to moving a better prospect than Foote.

Okay. Foote's skating is not great, but still think he has NHL future with his other tools.

NJD probably just doesn't have the roster space to make a whole lot of sense for 2022-23. Maybe next year.

Yeah, I don't disagree, and I love his shot, I just think that worst case, the Ducks hold onto Rico and this is the return next year. Rico coming home to the Devils is a fun story, but I agree-it doesn't make a ton of sense roster-wise at this moment. If he gets moved, I'd bet Vegas, Seattle or Carolina end up being the landing spot...

It's been pretty quiet when it comes to actual Ducks rumors (They were talking about Gibby this weekend, which made me laugh, but nothing else), which has me a *bit* concerned, but it felt the same last year before Verbeek moved Manson/Lindholm/D-Lo, so maybe they're just good at keeping a lid on things? We'll see...

Klingberg and Stolarz, I’d bet.

Yeah, running out of teams to double retain on Klinger with. He's actually looking *better* over the past couple of weeks, but man that Eakins system makes everyone look like ECHLers. I still think whoever gets Kulikov for like a 3rd or a 4th is going to get the steal of the deadline.

Just read that the 32 thoughts podcast had a bit on Comtois being moved. Let's just hope that somebody things he's Jeannot tears of joy They're also really pushing this Gibson trade stuff...Not sure how that gets done in-season without someone looking like a big old idiot though.

NJD has some newfound cap space since Meier deal moved Johnsson (and they retained 50%). Unlikely we retained on anyone else.

Depending on if Hughes signs or not, I could see you guys adding a bit of depth on defence.

Hughes will sign once his NCAA is over. Been confirmed and announced.

Scott Harrington could be that depth piece (not really sure though).
Kulikov would have been good fit.
