While also getting Savoie, Portillo, and Mitts? This is a massive overpay as it is.

Savoie and 2023 1st is the meat/potatoes of a potential Timo trade. The rest is fixings/gravy imo.

Portillo doesn’t have value, if any
Mittelstadt statistically looks fine but he isn’t really good, and he won’t be part of the Sabres future IMO

Sure. He may not have a future with BUF, but Mitt's has shown enough to have legit value in the NHL with some club. Portillo does have value and is a high end goalie prospect. Regardless of the other players involved, Savoie was a 9th overall pick at the last draft. I think if they are getting a 2024 1st on top of that, they are getting more than enough.

Portillo said he is walking, so just getting anything from him would be good. He is really a throw in since he could just not sign with SJ
Savoie is a top prospect but not blue chip prospect
So any trades involving Meier would be a top prospect + 2023 1st to start the conversation
Exemple NJ 2023 1st + Holtz is probably their starter, but a team need to outbide another
BUF have the advantage because of their pick will probably end up being higher than the Devils pick
NJ could add a really good D prospect on top of their 1st + Holtz, like Shakir M…

The athletic just named him the 10th best prospect in the league, so you may be in a small minority
