Unpopular opinion but I think maybe JVR. He could be nice to have on the PP. Would cost us a 2nd maybe

I have always thought he could be helpful for NJD, even using “JvR type” but not actually trading for JvR, since we don’t trade with Philly. We need guys who can score in close via tips, deflections, rebounds, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised to see NJD talk to him over the summer.

Woof. I disagree with all of these. Kulikov would be fine in a Henrique deal but I'm not going out for him alone

For the dmen, I am indifferent on both those guys, but we probably carry eight dmen on playoff roster. So a cheap veteran rental makes some sense unless we want both Hughes and Bahl on playoff roster.

I like Boeser a lot because I thinks he fills a need and could come with some retention. Schmaltz I really don’t know the price on, so hard to judge. Henrique would be great too (but I think that may better in off-season as Haula replacement).

Boeser would be buy low and I don't like how he's been playing. Schmaltz I think would be too expensive.

As for defensemen, I'd be after Gostisbehere.

I am all for buying at discount, especially if it’s a player that has good chance to rebound. Hairy warts and all.

Gostisbehere is more of an offensive dman. And with Luke as potential 7D, maybe we would need more defensive option.

Sam Reinhart? Not sure if he's available or cost, but he'd be nice on the Right of Hughes or Nico, Bratt going back to Left. One more year on his contract at 6.5 ... some position flexibility, if a center gets hurt ...

If Florida were selling, they have a number of interesting pieces…and we have a coach familiar with them. I think Bennett would be the guy for a C/W role. Reinhart works too.

Hell, I'd take both those guys, but it would take some salary gymnastics, particularly with Bratt, Rango etc contracts coming up ... Bennett has a team friendly deal too. Maybe he is the better option

I think he is the one that benefitted the most from Brunette’s system too.

If ... and it's a big If... they were open to dealing, what would you think it would cost NJ? Guy is right in his prime with two more years on that lovely contract. Can't see them trading him, but if they did, it would probably be a challenging ask. Reinhart may be a cheaper get?

Sever with an extension? They could use D

FLA really needs NHL-ready dmen, so I am sure they would extract the best one they could get from us. Obviously Hughes, Nemec would be out. Siegs and Hamilton also out. Severson and Graves are UFAs. So hard to see us as best option. Spitballing three ways here…

          1. Bahl, Walsh, 1st. They would really have to like one of those two guys. Bahl has the size. Walsh is the analytics darling.

          2. Three-way deal for more establish dman. Maybe there is a scenario we could supply picks and prospects that could go to Arizona for Chychrun. Bennett comes to us.

          3. Trade Marino and extend Severson.

Id vote number 2. Rather keep Marino and one seems too favorable for NJ. Ah, it was a nice concept, but wont happen
