Wrong, players have no hometown desires. Every player wants to play for Philadelphia and that mess they have running.

Idiotic comment of the day. It's called Arm chair GM for a reason.

Of course it is, I would agree. But I am also saying it has happened before. We have a good young goalie, we have a successful head coach, and we have some young pieces coming up in Foerster, Gauthier, Brink, Desnoyers, Zamula, Andrae, and some others, that maybe aren't AS exciting as Detroit, but you could see some things to start here, with the right management. If we traded for his old pal Bertuzzi, if we added some pieces and cleared cap space, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Fair. I don't think a friendship connection will be as strong as home state loyalty - it's a driving factor for so many players (Tavares, Giordano, etc etc).

Larkin is signed as a UFA in this CFACGM. Which isn't happening.

But in this scenario we are losing Larkin, Bertuzzi, Vrana, Zadina and 2 2nd round picks and gaining Konecny. It doesn’t matter how you break it down this will not happen, so why further this delusion at all.

It's probably too much. I just really like Konecny.

I have nothing against Konecny I like him as well but even when you take Larkin completely out of the scenario it's still a MASSIVE overpay. Especially when he has Bertuzzi on the 1st line. Konecny has more value than Bertuzzi and I'm not saying he doesn't. At last seasons TDL Bertuzzi had more value with Konecny. Bertuzzi had 24g - 25a - 49p in 51 games and Konecny had 10g - 28a - 38p in 60 games.

Now this is completely speculation but Bertuzzi in the season after he had back surgery he had the best season of his career. So is it that much of a stretch to think will rebound next season? I'm not saying he will put cup 30 goals but 25 goals is totally plausible.

I'd sign Bert to a 1 year deal but there's no way I'm giving him a long term contract extension. Bad luck or not he has to play more games than he has to get any more than that. He's probably kicking himself now for not signing any of Stevie's offers last summer. That the risk you take when you gamble on yourself.

I don't think Bert is going to age very well. I still think he's a good player and can score 30 IF he's healthy. But he misses too many games. And I can't ignore that and pretend it's not a factor going forward with him.

I do agree and so far Yzerman has only 1 questionable trade. So if Bertuzzi does get traded odds are the return will be good. I also think Bertuzzi could hit 30 again but with all the Bertuzzi hate going around I didn't want to get inundated with replies saying it won't happen.
