Yeah like Detroit would trade Bertuzzi to one of the worst teams in the NHL, Bertuzzi isn't currently available. And if Bert was willing to sign for 4 x $5,000,000 it would be in Detroit not Philadelphia.

7 x $9,000,000 = $63,000,000 Detroit offered Larkin 8 x $8,000,000 = $64,000,000 so Larkin would say hell no. If Larkin wants 8 x $9,000,000 = $72,000,000 from Detroit then it would cost Philadelphia at least 7 x 10,250,000 on a similar deal. And Larkin isn't signing with that team anyways.

And Sean Couturier is likely done with hockey, He himself said that there is a 50/50 chance he might never play again.

yeah Sean Couturier has never said that, show me where, I'll wait.

With Larkin, yeah, its a year less, prompting him to be able to maybe get one less contract for his career one year early. That could be looked at as a benefit, and perhaps be traded a year earlier if the right deal is there down the road on a deadline day.

Detroit doesn't give a **** where they trade players without NMC's, as long as they are getting value and pieces that fit their needs. If a dumpster could offer them something they need, they would trade him. You speak like you're in the FO and everything is a certainty, when in reality, you have no ****in clue.

And then the Flyers managed to sign the now worst GM ever. Look what happens to a hockey team when you have Hextall and Fletcher for a decade back to back.....exactly what is happening with the Flyers. It's a damn shame.

Yzerman would never do that to Bertuzzi, He's not trading Bertuzzzi to a team that's in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. Bertuzzi's play style is perfect for playoff hockey. And if Yzerman changes his mind in the next 7 days. He'll be traded to a team that's on a strong playoff run.

Detroit has a strong young core coming up that excites Larkin, Too bad the same can't be said about Philadelphia. Zero chance in hell Larkin would ever commit long term with Philly. They're nowhere near competing anytime soon ever for the playoffs. That teams a mess and they need to start rebuilding.

And the Sean Couturier mentioning his future is right there on Youtube look it up. After his 2nd major back operation. he said he doesn't know how his future will be it could be 50/50. And several credible insiders for Philly who know a lot more than you do said the exact same thing.

"Yzerman would never do that to Bertuzzi" Tells me all i need to know about how much hockey you know. Yzerman isn't looking to trade him to playoff contender, please give me any evidence that says Yzerman cares about where Tyler Bertuzzi's situation ends up??? It will be a playoff team inquiring about him, not Yzerman choosing it. That's just one of the worst takes I've ever heard.

I wish we were in the Connor sweepstakes but sadly we're probably going to fall outside of that. Wrong again.

If Larkin was so excited about it, how come he hasn't signed an extension yet? Not saying he wants to be in Philly, but a top FA has signed during a team's rebuild (see Artemi Panaran, Sergei Bobrovsky, Johnny Gaudreau, I could go on forever, that's just in the last 5 years.. Wrong again.

I asked you to prove it, send the link, show where he said it. He definitely did not and also that was over a year ago so things change, ya know, like things do in the world on an everyday basis.

I mean it's safe to assume any player would rather go a contender and not a team like Philly.
Also, seeing as Yzerman likes to control contract talks himself, I'd assume he'd listen to his players on where they would and wouldn't like to be traded (within reason, if Arizona is offering an arm and a leg I'm sure that nullifies opinions a little bit)

Just because a deal hasn't been signed yet doesn't mean Yzerman won't sign Larkin. It's called negotiating. Yzerman plays hardball. Whereas a GM like Dubas just knuckles under to whatever money and term his stars wants.

That's why his annual Leafs rosters are made up of studs and duds. It's why he has to turnover his bottom 6 forwards every summer. Yzerman knows quality depth wins Stanley cups. He plays the long game. He's factoring in big raises for Raymond and Seider down the line. Hronek too.

Last I heard Yzerman offered Larkin 8.2 mil and Larkin wants 9 after seeing what Barzal and Horvat signed for. It's not a reach to expect Larkin to sign in the 8.5 range.

Larkin is a Michigan Boy. He was recently married to a Michigan girl. Do you really believe he's going to give up being the captain of his favourite team growing up for $200k a year?

I don't. July 1st isn't next week and contrary to what CFACGM users think, Steve Yzerman IS actually allowed to re-sign his own players.

Fans conveniently forget when Yzerman took Stamkos into UFA. Everyone and their mother had Stamkos signing with the Leafs. I actually have a picture I took of a group of 5 Leafs fans wearing brand new Stamkos Leafs jerseys about a week before he re-signed with Tampa.

Last time I checked, Steve Stamkos never played a game for the Leafs.

If you paid any attention to the Larkin talks and followed TBL's talk with Stamkos, you'd understand that this deal is going to get done - just will take a bit.

Wrong, players have no hometown desires. Every player wants to play for Philadelphia and that mess they have running.

Maybe. Anyways, whenever anything happens in Philly its for moral reasons so.
They're just irrelevant outside of Philly; worse than the Stars.

Of course it is, I would agree. But I am also saying it has happened before. We have a good young goalie, we have a successful head coach, and we have some young pieces coming up in Foerster, Gauthier, Brink, Desnoyers, Zamula, Andrae, and some others, that maybe aren't AS exciting as Detroit, but you could see some things to start here, with the right management. If we traded for his old pal Bertuzzi, if we added some pieces and cleared cap space, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
