This is a mess. Kulich isn't available for a rental, and the Sabres don't need retention. Honestly, the Sabres gm has basically said this is an evaluation year, and he hasn't done anything to lead me to believe he's gonna trade futures for a rental (and I know he could re-sign here, but we could give up nothing and see if he just wants to sign here in july). Jost has been light years better than mittelstadt as a 3C, I bet they wanna see where that goes, and Krebs has been improving on the 4th line, it's probably his job at some point. There's nothing in that Chicago trade that I want, certainly nothing I would move our first for. If we move our first, I imagine we are adding to it to get something nice, not taking a couple lesser players and cobbling them together and saying it's worth a first.
