Canucks decline. Petey is untouchable, only way he gets moved is for an offer the Canucks can’t refuse, at which point the offering team is either giving up their whole future or declining cause it’s way too much to justify for one player.

I mean, when I said that it wasn't like "Markstrom, Zadorov, random prospects and a 2nd". Like I said, its not that those players are bad but none of them come close to replacing Pettersson both on the ice and what it means to the Canucks if you're trading him.

compared to petey its a bunch of junk. would need another young, superstar to even get Vans attention which calgary does not have. If you still had tkachuk theres ur starter

I never once disagreed with what you are saying. I am just saying they are not bad players, but its like a bunch of good working parts for the shiny best part.

OMFG, dude: I AM NOT SAYING YOU ARE WRONG. All I said is to say that the players CGY sends back are "trash" is incorrect. They are not incompatible. They can both be good players AND not anywhere close to getting Pettersson.

and all im saying is its no even in the realm of what van would consider. Calgary does not have any assets that would interest the canucks in a pettersson trade. When has a superstar ever been traded for scraps, excluding contract situations? Even when tkachuk was a RFA, calgary got back a 100 point player and a great top 4 D(at the time, ik they havnt been good this year) a first and a prospect.

Lindholm, Andersson, and a few firsts to even get vans attention

I never once said "Oh, the Canucks should consider this." I said it wasn't absolutley, downright terrible because they are NHL players. It wasn't Markstrom, a bunch of random prospects/busts and mid round picks which is just insulting. Absolutely the Canucks would not consider this, even if they even are thinking of moving EP at all. Yet, you keep acting like I am trying to persuade you that its actually not bad for Vancouver. Its just not the stupidest trade I've ever seen because they aren't awful negative value players. It would not be a fair or good trade, but it would not be like, I don't know, trading Markus Naslund for a 4th line grinder like the Penguins did back in the day.

Not in the way you are acting. It is terrible in terms of value for Pettersson, as we both agree. It is not terrible in that the guys coming back are actually good players. If the Canucks got Hanifin or Dube in a vacuum, those are not bad additions at all. They provide positive value on the ice. But they would be good to add AROUND Pettersson, and don't equal him at all. That is when you respectfully decline because its not fair compensation/logical while acknowledging they aren't literal dog****.

You know what is a downright terrible deal for Pettersson? Lets say, Rasmus Ristolainen, Kevin Hayes and Tony DeAngelo. They are NHLers but they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse, especially Tony D. If you add Risto/Hayes/Tony D they both don't equal him, and they would basically be giving you negative value on the ice except maybe Hayes sometimes. That is when you laugh, hang up, and block the number.

His contract is up next year and he’s definitely asking for 9 at least and you already had to give up you’re captain because of the cap and the Canucks are rebuilding so how are you going to pay him and even if you do pay him then how the hell are you going to pay Quinn huges and with that price tag on petterson he might just walk for nothing so ether you lose one of you’re best scorers for nothing, you get robbed in a trade for him because you have no leverage, or you pay him and lose your best defender for nothing or not what he’s valued at.

Lol Pettersson at 9 million would be a steal. Say the Canucks sign him for 9.5. That is only a 2 million dollar raise. Making 2 mil in room is not hard to do in order to fit Pettersson in. Comparing Horvat to Pettersson just goes to show the lack of knowledge you have on the sport. Horvat is 28 and a pending UFA. Pettersson is 24 and a pending RFA. Canucks didn’t want to sign Horvat because he was too old, and not worth the money. As for Quinn Hughes, his contract doesn’t expire for 5 seasons. You know what else expires in 5 seasons? OEL and his 7 million dollar cap hit. Between now and 2027, lots of things can happen. Signing Pettersson will absolutely not prevent the Canucks from signing Hughes. Let’s also not forget that Tyler Myers also expires at the same time that Pettersson does. The money is no problem lol. Poor argument by you
